I had no idea what I was getting into when I realised that my older brother was right, the sun beams down on us as we finish cleaning the last of the dirt from our fathers car.
"You're awfully quiet" Ian says, I roll my eyes before spraying him with the hose and he scoffs as his shirt and black pants become soaked with water.
"I hate you sometimes"
"oh sister, I'm quite aware"
"CLEAN THAT CAR!!" our father yells from the porch and we both Snickers before cleaning the last of the dirt off.
I straighten up and then turn my head to see Sophia Jackson dressed in a black crop top and jeans, I can't help the blush that comes onto my face and she smiles as she waves at us and I wave back before my brother flicks his fingers up in the air and we then wash our arms and we then go inside and get changed.
"Are you busy?" A small voice asks me as I unchain my Kelpie puppy Lilly.
I turn my head to see Sophia.
"No, what's wrong?" I ask her, holding the red lead in my hand and Lilly sniffs her hand.
"My mother's car.. it's not working" She says.
"I can take a look" I say, fixing my hair in my baseball cap.
we walk to her house and I check the car and soon have it fixed.. I turn and I see how close Sophia and I are and there is just a breath between us and we both just stare at each other....
