A blessing in disguise…
I just talked to one of my school friend Abu, recently, and had a lengthy discussion on each other’s present status and recalled so many moments we had spent together during our school days.

Even today when we talked about the mischiefs we had done at our school days, it seemed as if it was just yesterday. How we have grown from school kids as mature individuals, taking the responsibilities of both office and home, has been a journey with so many ups and downs. Finally it’s here where we stand today, when still a lot is to be explored for the future. Everyone undertakes his or her life’s journey, in their own way, and Abu was no exception. I remember when we had cleared class 12th and appeared in NDA exam, as most of us were from defence background. Many of us passed, but couldn’t clear the SSB, but amongst us was Abu, who cleared his SSB. We were so happy and proud of him, as he was the one amongst all of us, to finally make it. Only thing we knew about his drawback was his mischievous activities, which were plenty and he had to curb them at the earliest. Anyways he left for his training and just after a year or so, we heard that Abu was back home. The training was hard, and Abu was the naughty one, who didn’t abide by the rules and regulations, which he continuously broke. Thus he was expelled from the training squad.

When he was back home, we could all see his sad face, but the determination to excel was a quality still showed on his face. He worked hard, got into a few corporates, started his own venture, and today is very successful in his business. He now has a few properties in his name in Mumbai, owns a BMW car and so many other assets that he has created. For us, he remains the same person today, now a much mature person and a true friend as always. He is very much connected to his NDA batchmates even today, keeps visiting them sometimes, and they are also proud of him, just like us.

When we talk about that moment when he was ousted from the forces to where he is today, it has been truly, a blessing in disguise for him.
