Covid - 19, lost loved ones and found a new me
2020 and 2021 has been a difficult time for everyone but has also helped us connect more with our families. Share your experience in the form of a story about how this scenario shaped your life and you as a person.

Covid-19, a virus that shut down the world. The pace at which it spread and the lives it took away, still gives us shivers and cold chill.

Every family has lost someone in their life to this disease, and the saddest part was that we could not be there for our loved ones when they needed us the most.

The virus and the lockdown separated us, when we should have been together in times of despair and sorrow.

I lost my mother at the beginning of the year 2021 to cardiac arrest. An irreparable loss for which I have no words to describe or talk about.

In a couple of months, covid surged and spread like wildfire. There used to be this scary silence that haunted all of us, the only noise one could hear was the siren of the ambulance in a span of almost 5-10 minutes.

In my family, my husband and my mother-in-law contracted the disease and were severely ill. Where my mother in-law was admitted in the hospital, my husband’s condition worsened with every passing day.

With two small kids to look after to, I use to be on my toes all day.

Until one day, he became so critical that he had to be rushed to the hospital in emergency. Leaving my sleeping kids alone at home. I locked the door and ran to save his life.

Running from hospital to hospital, and making calls we were running out of time as his condition was getting worse by every minute. No hospital was ready to take him as they were short of beds.

Finally, there was one hospital that took him in and started the treatment. That night was the most horrific night of my lifetime, where I saw my world crashing down in front of my eyes and I was helpless.

Words cannot describe that night. It was the last time I took pity on myself and decided to make myself so strong that nothing could break me down emotionally.

With the grace of God, we survived that night and my husband was discharged the early morning. He was out of danger but very very weak.

After returning back home, I saw my kids sleeping peacefully not knowing what storm their parents had survived.

A life changing moment for me, covid shook my entire life, it jolted me from inside.

From losing my mother to almost loosing my life partner, I never thought of encountering death at the face of it.

I started working towards developing myself and working upon my emotional intelligence something that was crippled during covid and the career break I took to bring up my kids.

I decided to pursue my career once again and raise my kids the way my mother raised me.

I feel much more confident now, I am now working as a mentor to women to restart their career. Along with that I very happy to pursue my passion, to be a writer.

There is never a right time, the moment you take a decision to be a better version of yourself is the right time.

Two years have passed by, those we lost shall never come back. Care for those who are there for you.

We have only one life to live, it is important to devote sometime from our busy schedules, to be with our loved ones who are there for you.

To live each moment be it good or bad!
