Chapter 12: Breaking in the Enemy's Lair
(Dominic's POV)

"Do you read me Dominic~", Orion said amusement dripping off his voice. His loud annoying voice boomed across my phone right in my ear!

I sigh out and shook my head at his normally childish behaviour. Chase look at me wearily from behind the bush from across a large manor.

His form hunch over looking rather tense in nervousness. He looks ready to bolt away from here in any seconds. Humph it's not like I forced him to come with me!

He knows what we're here for! It's not some camping trip to bond over🙄. "Yes moron I heard you and lower your voice! I bet the guards can hear you from their post".

"Aww Dominic... (GROWL) ok ok geez you can't let me have my fun, party spoiler! Well I can disable cameras around the perimeter and metal gates but only for 2 min.

There're guards patrolling around the perimeter and switch in between. I'll leave the rest to you guys because you know what to do from here. And don't forget to cover your faces~ Best luck guys".

"I swear this guy can't be more annoying... let's get going Chase. The sooner we're finished here is better. (Yeh not like I want to stay here more than it requires)

Did you said something? (Nothing!) Huh well you can still set out , it's not too late to go back", I said not looking at him. I heard him loud and clear but I can humour him for this once I guess.

I turn my head to look at him after a few seconds of silence hung over us. Chase shakes his head with a determined gaze surprising me there. "No I'm going".

There's a solemn expression on his face as if the gravity of this whole situation is finally sinking in his mind. "Fine but Don't. Get. Caught". He only quietly nods his head.

After Orion gives us the signal we move out of our cover. I put my hand up till the guard left his post to switch with another. We sprints across the road towards the giant metallic gates.

I immediately ran for the wall beside the gates. It was tall enough for me to jump over but Chase may not able to make it alone. I climb on the wall and thrust my hand towards him.

He quickly grabs on it and I didn't wait to pull him up. I jump down landing gracefully on my feet. Chase follows right behind after a few seconds of hesitation.

He manages to stumble on his feet and fell face flat in the ground. I scoff down at him and pull him up by grabbing the back of his jacket. "Keep moving", I whisper in his ear.

We ran down the pathway and I make sure to watch out for any nearby guards. They can be anywhere was my gut instinct screaming at me over the silence in the groves.

"Are you guys in" Orion asks hesitantly like he expected us to get caught or give up! "Yeh we're in worrywart. There's no sound of alarms so far.

We're heading straight to the manor right now and I have yet to see any guards in sight. So any surveillance cameras we need to look out for?" I hear him sigh out in relief.

"Thank goodness! This is good, make sure no gaurds see you! I'm not kidding man. I have already shut down the security system of the manor. It was rather a piece of cake!

So how's Chase doing? Still with you or did you left the poor guy out somewhere", Orio said snickering. "Yes and shut up! We're not on field trip so go annoy somebody else".

"Ouch so cold! Hey Chase! I hope you're wearing enough warm clothes or Mr. Cool guy will freeze you up from standing near him only-". Beep...

"So troublesome, annoying squirt! Hey Chase let's go before someone see us here." I didn't wait for any response though I know he's following right behind me.

We made our way around the manor and snuck in through the back door which lead us inside a porcelain, tiled floor kitchen. I made sure Chase has secured a mask on his face.

I don't want any police finding their way at my doorsteps in the middle of night. I quickly lead us out of the kitchen as there is no time to gaze around this place.

I hear Chase gasp softly behind me in surprise and awe at the enormous layout of the mansion. But it didn't faze me a bit since I spent my childhood in one.

I told him to make sure to keep up with me. I don't want him to get lost in the maze of this manor. I don't have the time to search for him around this place.

We walk down multiple hallways and look in the rooms. I'm rather surprise at the emptiness the manor offer us so far. There is not single sight of any of its occupants.

No gaurds, no maids, no bodyguards or any of the family members. I know Vanessa is out in the town at a bar for rich people to gather with her friends.

"Where's everyone? It looks more like a haunted house than a lively mansion to me", Chases said shivering and glance outside a window which show as a beautiful garden.

"I can't say we're lucky yet. Keep your gaurds up. Let's find that bitch room first. Then we'll think about what to do later".

Chase nods his head looking gravely at me. Damn it's fucking so cold that's why I never like my family house. Chase is right though it looks more like a haunting house, So cold and daunting.

'Just like you' a devilish voice wishpers out snickering within the walls of my mind.
