Love, Divorce and Everything else
Chapter 28: Myra vs Jack

It was days away from the first hearing for the first case against the child protective agency, and Ryan was working hard on all 3 cases, working day and night. He was determined to see Myra win all the cases, hardly eating or sleeping properly. It was almost morning, and Ryan thought of taking a quick nap before visiting Myra at the hospital, as she was due to be discharged by afternoon. While Ryan was resting at home for some time at the hospital, Cynthia was busy packing Myra's things and waiting for the doctor to confirm she was good to go home. It was 6 am in the morning, and Myra could see how tired her mom and dad looked. She asked them to go home, freshen up, and take some rest, as the doctor would not come till late afternoon. Completing paperwork and formalities can take a few more tiring hours. Her parents agreed and told her they would be back by 11:00 am or 12:00 pm. Myra said she would also take some rest for a while before the doctor and nurse start walking in the room. She said 'bye' to her parents and closed her eyes to get some sleep herself for a few hours. At around 10 am, she suddenly woke up from a noise. She thought it's the nurse doing their rounds and checking on her. She slowly opened her eyes and was shocked and taken aback when she saw Jack sitting in a corner, staring at her. She panicked and started looking for the bell to call the nurse, but her hands were shaking and she was scared, while Jack kept staring at her. She then screamed and called out for the nurse when Jack suddenly walked towards her, got close to her, and said, 'Shut your mouth and don't you dare scream.' He then walked towards the door, looked outside to see if anyone heard Myra, but there was no one approaching the room, so he closed the door and locked it from inside. Myra was panicking; she couldn't find her phone either. She was scared of what he would do to her. Jack had this weird smirk on his face as if he was enjoying the moment and watching Myra trembling with fear.He then dragged the chair closer to her and it made a loud screeching sound. Jack intentionally dragged the chair slowly; he knew the sound was irritating Myra. He then kept the chair right in front of her bed, the closest he could get, and sat down on the chair. He started staring at her. Myra couldn't stop shaking in fear. She felt as if she couldn't breathe and all the bad memories started to come to her mind. She wanted to scream, but she was too scared, thinking about what he would do to her. Jack knew she is really scared now and won't make any noise. He slowly leaned forward with a smile on his face and said, 'My darling Myra, how have you been?' Myra didn't respond; she was too scared to say anything. The expressions on Jack's face changed, and he banged his hand on the bed, saying, 'Did you not hear me? I am asking you a question. How are you, Myra?' Myra replied in a trembling voice, 'Please, Jack, please leave me alone. Please, go away.' Jack lifted his body and leaned towards her face and said, 'Leave? Why? We are just getting started, aren't we, my love? Myra tried to get away, but she felt frozen with fear. She was just looking at Jack and praying that someone would realize the door is closed and walk in. Jack slowly got up from the chair and walked towards the window. He said, 'So tell me, a woman like you, single mother, old mom and pop, how do you afford this private hospital room? How much do you earn now? Or have you found someone to pay for all this?' Myra stayed quiet and just sat on the bed, scared. Then Jack turned around excitedly, saying, 'Hey, wait a minute, is my cousin paying for all this? You got in his head, didn't you? Oh, I know you!' and started laughing loudly. Jack then said, 'Tell me, how do you do it? Get men crazy for you? You had me crazy for a while until my mom helped me really see you.' 'Now, Ryan, imagine the guy my mom raised, that ungrateful, pathetic orphan, and he dares to stand against my mother. How dare he? I tried to speak to him, and the boy who never dared talk to me dared challenge me for you.'Don't worry. He will be taken care of. First, I need to deal with you. So tell me, Myra, how did you do it? Get Albert to write his will to you and how did he know about the baby? And is she even mine? Myra got upset and shouted, 'How dare you? Emma is my daughter and had no relation with you. The moment we signed the papers, you have no right to ask me any questions and no rights to my daughter.' Jack laughed and said, 'Well, you and your daughter can do anything. I don't care. It's the money I want. So tell me, why did Albert leave everything to you? What are you planning?' He screamed, 'Tell me right now or else,' and he almost hit Myra, but she stopped him and said, 'Remember, I own everything with my daughter. Don't make me throw you and your precious mother in jail or on the streets for hitting me. You want that, Jack?' Jack was surprised and said, 'Oh, you are threatening me now, are you? You better watch your back now because I'm going to snatch your daughter first, and then I'm going to make you beg and plead to let you be with her. Then you are going to treat me with respect. Otherwise, I will never let you see your precious little daughter again. You will marry me. You will beg to marry me and offer yourself to me. You will offer the money back that Albert left to you. Once you and your daughter are of no further use to me, once we have control of Albert's estates, I will kick you out on the street. I will enjoy all of it because you deserve it. Myra got upset on hearing Jack's plans. While Jack was busy blabbering his plans, she pressed the bell, and a nurse walked in and shouted, "Jack, sir, who let you in? Why was the door closed?" Jack didn't respond, and Myra could see Jack's face turning red with anger. She then asked Myra, "Hello, ma'am. Would you like me to call security?" And Myra said, "Yes, nurse, get security right now, and please get this man away from me." The nurse ran out, calling for security. Jack, in the meantime, looked at Myra and said, "This is not over. You will regret this. I will make you regret this. He then rushed out of the room. Myra could just hear noises, but was too exhausted by the traumatic experience. She wanted it to end and just closed her eyes, repeating to herself, 'I hope it's just a bad dream. I hope it's not real. I hope he wasn't here.' She kept repeating this until she fell asleep.
