My demons
"What if I disappear. Like... always. will you miss me? " She asked.
"I am too busy in my life to miss a dumb like you, Or maybe I never know you are gone," he said. frustrated. Not even looked at her.
"Ok. I think it's a good thing" she smiled forcefully and left.
"You are ready to go now?" the demon asked.
"Yes, I guess. he will be ok," she said sadly.
"Good. take this bottle and drink it all. it will take only a moment and you will be free." the demon presented a small vial.
She took the vial and tried to gather all her energy. She wanted to drink that elixir of freedom from all the suffering. The ticket to buy happiness and end her pain for eternity. she opened the bottle and took a deep breath. She was ready for it. But something stopped her. He looked at the demon, staring at her, with a sly smile.
"Can I meet him again?" She sobbed.
"Why are you making it difficult child? Do what I said and everything will be alright." the demon answered. There was agitation in his voice. He wanted to make it quick but could not force it. It should be a choice. The demon could make you walk the path he wanted but the final step must be your desire.
"Please. Last time. I will be quick. I just want to tell him that I love him" she pleaded.
"But he don't care. You know that." the demon shrugged.
"still. please. let me tell him that i always loved him and will love him" She begged.
"Ok... but after that, you have to finish what we start here." the demon said with a tinge of anger in his voice. She nodded and run toward his room. She hesitated before knocking but before she decided what to do door opened. he was standing in front of her.
"Hey... where were you? I did not see you when I came home," he said with a smile and hug her tightly. she placed her hand on his back and lost in his touch. after a moment he moved and looked at her with eyes, full of desire and love. "I missed you."
" I was there a minute ago," she said
"Really? Ohh my fault" he laughed and removed his earpiece from his left ear. "I must be on a phone call when you came."
"Phone call," She said, confused.
"Yeah. I fired my assistant this afternoon. that jerk thinks I am going to miss him. what a fool he is." he grinned
"You were talking to your assistant?" She shocked. her face was stoic for a moment. and after the realization, she smiled. there were tears in her eyes, ready to come out like a storm.
"What happened? is something wrong? why are you crying? oh, dear. Please tell me what is going on?" he asked you. He was worried.
"Do you love me?" She asked. her voice was painted with many emotions. A simple question, but the answer holds the power to change lives.
"Yes. I love you" he said without any hesitation. He was confused too. "you are everything to me. my love, my world, my home. I can't imagine my life without you. I don't think I can live without you" he said with a smile while stroking her hair with one hand while holding her gently with his other hand.
"I thought you don't care about me. you don't want me near you." She cried and shoved her face in his neck. some words came as mumbling he couldn't understand. But he knew the feeling. He knew what she was holding inside her. he held her tight and let her cry.
"I am sorry, love." his voice was painful, a whisper only she could listen to. she looked into his eyes. there is so much in his gaze that he was not able to put into words. "I was so busy with everything, I forgot to take care of the most important person in my life. I wasted my time on superficial things and ignore the person who matters to me the most." He was sad.
"I am sorry I doubted your love. I thought you don't want me in your life." She said in a low voice.
"You are my life." He said in a dominating voice. She smiled and kissed him.
She was happy. She was smiling. she was going to her room to tell the demon about the changes in her plan. she opened the door and looked everywhere. there was no one in the room. she walked in and took a deep breath in relief. she turned on her heels and go back to her lover. The demon was gone.
