GAME OF EXITS CHAPTER 11: JERIC'S CHOICE
Jeric produces on the floor a steel hammer, a handsaw, a crowbar and a large kitchen knife.
“Choose your weapon,” Jeric says. “And save yourselves.”
“Oh, thanks! You think we’re carpenters?” Shaira scorns.
“In fact, yes,” Jeric retorts. “Hey, switch boy! You want me to produce a shirt for you? Your body is an eyesore.”
Moises remains silent, embarrassed.
“And, Cristina…. Here. Take this gun. You know how to use a .45 caliber?”
“No,” Cristina says as she takes the gun.
“Of course, you don’t. So use your common sense…. And don’t point that thing at me, okay?” Jeric slowly paces toward the left corner, and then Cristina follows him. “Don’t come any closer. I’ll be using a shotgun.”
Andrew slowly walks forward as Shayna steps back and sits on the floor just in front of the EXIT door. Moises slowly steps toward the right corner while Shaira, Joshua and Vincent remain standing at the entrance door.
“Just what I thought,” Moises thinks. “I can’t exchange positions with any of them. They’re not players after all. This is not good…. What should I do?”
“Any plans?” Vincent asks Joshua.
“We run toward the door as soon as we have the chance,” Joshua answers. “There’s no point in killing them all.”
“Can you just shove that girl blocking the door?” Shaira asks Joshua. “She looks dangerous.”
“Yah. I have a bad feeling about her. If only we knew her power!”
“I won’t hesitate kicking her if I have to,” Vincent mumbles.
“Of course,” Shaira says. “From the very start I knew you were a gentleman.”
“But I think we should not focus on that girl,” Joshua says. “That wrestler is our worst enemy.”
Suddenly, Justine runs toward the east wall and passes through it as though he were a spirit.
“Where did he go?” Moises mumbles and quickly checks every direction. “This is serious….”
“Apparently, he can pass through walls,” Joshua says. “Don’t lose your guards.”
“Now let me see you take this,” Jeric says as he points his shotgun at Andrew. Then, an earsplitting blast follows, stunning everybody else. Jeric’s eyebrows clash when he realizes that Andrew had turned himself into a large metal cube before the bullet hit him. Then, the cube quickly transforms into a human-like titanium statue. Jeric pulls the trigger once more, but Andrew remains standing firm, unscathed. “What kind of monster is that?”
“Now don’t tell me this gun you gave me will do the trick,” Cristina tells Jeric.
“Maybe your loud mouth will do the trick.” Jeric pulls the trigger again. “What’s wrong with this guy?”
Alarmed, Joshua immediately picks up the knife while Vincent grabs the crowbar and handsaw.
“Here. Take this,” Vincent tells Shaira.
“What am I supposed to do with that handsaw?”
“Just take it! Uugghh!” Justine emerges from behind and hits Vincent in the back with his flying kick. Vincent falls off his feet and rolls on the floor, dropping the crowbar and the handsaw.
“Vince!” Joshua shouts as he runs to check his friend. “Are you okay? Vince! Your head is bleeding!”
Vincent groans. “My… head….”
Joshua makes his knife a little longer and faces Justine. “You bastard!” Joshua throws his knife toward Justine, but he misses the target. Without delay,...
