Noah's POV
“so Callie was Anna's makeup artist”
“Yes”
“But why would Anna invite her to the wedding?, were they close?”
“They were high school friends that reunited during their reunion, I only met her briefly once, when I dropped Anna off at her studio”
“Oh, that makes sense”
“Why did she pretend not to know me, though?”
“She probably felt overwhelmed, if it were me, I'd do the same” Ezra said reassuring me. “Don't stress it, it'd be alright. Let's go”
I unlocked the car for him to enter. I entered and started the car, driving towards home, I had no plans to go home though, I sped past home and ignored the confused look on Ezra's face. Likewise, I stopped in front of a small but beautiful house and parked.
“Is this it?” I said, pointing at the house.
“What?” I rolled my eyes at him.
“Your house?”
“Yeah, why did you come here though?”
“Can't I spend time alone with my brother?” I said, getting down from the car, I looked back at Ezra who sat fixated on his seat. I want back, shaking my head and trying to get him out of the car.
“Let me go!, I'm not leaving here except you have some superpowers to open the door with, because I don't have my keys with me”
“You're joking right”
He widened his eye and made shook his head. I face palmed 🤦
“If this were a movie or book, I'd have broken the door down, but I doubt I can”
“Let's just go to Dad's house”
“I need to clear my mind and I don't need any distraction”
“Dad is no distraction, let me on to what's bothering you, Noah”
Realization suddenly hit me, I needed to investigate and what better way to investigate than to investigate her sister, Becca. I had to know _ My thoughts were rudely interrupted by Ezra as he shook the living daylight out of me.
“What?!” I yelled.
“I've been calling you for quite some time”
“The retreat is this week, right?”
“Yeah”
“Is Becca going?”
“What?”
“You heard me”
“She goes every year”
“Nice” I said smiling and rubbing my palm together like I was cooking up an evil plan
“What does that mean?” Ezra said looking at me suspiciously.
“What are you waiting for, we've got a retreat to prepare for!”
