Ryven and Vyxx
Startled by the scene before her, Ryven could only scream in response to the thing which appeared to be a demon since it had all the earmarks of being one, but it was obvious it was not conflicted. From what the royal elf knew, those beings whose souls hadn’t moved onto the afterlife were labeled as conflicted, and they always carried physical verification through a series of tattoos on their necks. This one, according to what her eyes could see, did not have any distinguishing marks, but she was unable to see all of that one’s skin. Then, the Sorcery Mistress, Kassara appeared from inside the Ground Transportation Unit, and the royal elf felt more comfortable with everything, for the moment.
Ryven was surprised by the visit from her educator at the Sorcery College, and she asked, “What brings you by? I mean, I thought the days of being your student ended when I graduated, last year.”
“If life were that simple, I’d be on a beach somewhere drinking alcohol, but things don’t always turn out the way we had planned, obviously. What brings me here is that I need to introduce you to your personal demon, Vyxx,” the sorceress replied.
“I didn’t know anyone was coming by or else I would’ve cleaned up before you got here,” the royal one said.
“Do not worry about the appearance of your home, until her transition is complete, your demon is going to mess things up around here, and I assure your current mess is nothing in comparison,” said the sorceress.
“Transition, what transition are you talking about, and why didn’t you make sure that was finished before you came?” Ryven asked.
“That’s easy to explain, when I was given the task of creating a personal demon for you, I chose to make it in a different way than the others who were also given the assignment, and I set out to impress you. Honestly, the transition cannot be completed until she meets you, and is capable of moving about your home, freely,” she explained.
“Please tell me why those things are important,” she urged.
“First, we need to go to the back of this carriage, because you need to meet her, and she requires stretching of her legs,” Kassara said.
“You’re out of your head. I am not messin’ around with any kind of demon, it’s too dangerous,” she responded.
“This is not something that you’re capable of squirming your way out of, Ryven. It has been ordered by Nerville Sufarian, and she will not take no for an answer on the matter,” she explained to the royal elf.
“Oh, I didn’t know she was the one who gave the orders, I’ll do whatever I have to since she’s the boss, ultimately,” Ryven said.
“And, why is that?” The sorceress inquired.
“Because, Nerville Sufarian and I are related by marriage. My sister, Ecko has a personal demon, who is more like her brother, and his name is Azleal. He married Jasmine’s servant, Ballista, and she is Nerville’s granddaughter. Therefore, if Missus Sufarian says I have to meet, and get to know, Vyxx, that is what I must do,” the royal one said.
“That makes sense, I think. You still know how to keep me confused,” she chuckled.
“I’m sorry, that’s the last thing I wanted to do, it’s never easy to work your way out of a good dose of my ‘confusion’, so I’ll try to limit the mess as much as possible. What do I need to do in order to meet my personal demon?” Ryven asked.
“Not much, just listen to what I say, do what I say, the moment I tell you, and try not to be scared. I know, easier said than done, however, keep in mind that Vyxx cannot cause you physical harm. Even though Vyxx is in transition, she’s very aware of who you are, and already knows your scent. Also, the reason she must meet you, and be able to move around, is so that she can further register your scent into her memory,” the sorceress said.
“I guess that makes sense, she’s a lot like my creatures,” she commented.
“Yes, she is, but only until the transition has been finalized. Once she is completely transformed into an elf, it’ll be our responsibility to teach her the things she needs to know in order to be capable of surviving, topside,” she further explained to her student.
“I know that Ecko and Azleal have to do...
