I was trying to reach you on the day we first met. Life was surely a lot simpler. Remember when we would sit on the grass and let all of our worries roll off our backs like the water does the rocks? I can recall our talks that were hilarious and serious. I remember how we used to finish each other's sentences and never leave the other's side. I remember when we didn't care what the world thought.

Now you care what the world thinks. You care. That's the difference. I was trying to reach you now and all I was met with was silence. Noiseless lack of care. Life is surely a lot harder. Now I lay on the grass alone and look up at the stars, thinking of the memory of you. Sure, the water still rolls off the rocks the same way, at least that hasn't changed. Now all that remains are talks of the past, nothing new or adventurous like they used to be. The only sentences that I am finishing of yours are the ones that you have left unanswered and my side is abandoned.

Oh, how I miss our days in the sun when we sang at the top of our lungs without a care in the world. But that time only existed when we both didn't care what the world thought.....
