The Lightning Boy
#TheWritingProject

“Should we go inside that house?” asked Bon, who was the group's most enthusiastic person.

“Which house?” asked Max, who was a new boy in the city. He is also the weirdest person in the group.

“That haunted house stood between the sky-touching buildings and busy markets. Have you seen that?” explained Julia. She always tried to be innovative.

“Shall we go…inside that house?” asked Bon again.
Everyone wanted to go inside that house, in case they find a ghost.

Before anyone moved, Steven began,” But wait. I’ve heard people saying there are ghosts. I am telling you, once we get inside, we won’t be able to come back.”

“Oh, don’t worry,” exclaimed Julia.

After some time they were in front of the house. The house had gloomy doors and windows. The front gate was a huge one. The children entered the house through the walls. There, they saw a big tree, with a thick girth. There were no leaves on that tree. The children tried to peek into the house through the windows. The house was empty.

“Hey, I think there is a light flickering.” feared Steven.
“Yeah. I can also smell something bad. Let me go and check from behind the house.” said Julia. And she went behind the house.
Similarly, Steven and Bon too went around the house, to in search of something abnormal.

But Max stood there. When, Steven, Max and Julia returned, Max was still there. He didn’t tend to move. The shedded leaves were flying here and there. The sun was about to set.

They kept taking Max’s name, but he didn’t move. A Lightning came, and struck onto the house. After the strike, Max was not there.

However, the three children managed to escape the house.

But from that day, they never saw Max.
