WORLD HERITAGE DAY IN INDIA
Theme: The power of collaboration

18 APRIL ²⁰²⁴

There are many ways in which you can celebrate this day with your child, regardless of the country.

Until now there are 32 World Heritage sites in India which are recognized by UNESCO.

SOME OF THE WAYS SUGGESTED BY UNV, WHICH WILL HELP YOU AND YOUR CHILD EXPLORE MORE ABOUT THIS DAY ARE:

HOW SCHOOLS CAN BE MORE INVOLVED:

▪️Create a list of local Heritage sites and sustainable Cultural practices

▪️Document the Local Heritage Sites (History, Significance, present situation and issues, efforts required for the conservation etc.)

▪️Take up an action project involving a group of students for the preservation of local Art form or the Heritage sites

▪️Organize a World Heritage Education workshop to create awareness among students and teachers (the measures required to explore, explain and preserve the Heritage sites)

▪️Field trips to local Heritage Sites followed by interactive discussions with experts

▪️Organizing competitions such as Poster, Quiz, Debate, Slogan and Poem writing competitions for the maintenance and cleanliness of local heritage sites

▪️Organizing a display of local and National level Cultural and Natural Heritage

▪️Organizing Street Plays to create awareness among the masses (Local Folk media could be actively involved in this)

▪️Organizing a heritage walk or a cycle rally to create awareness on the importance of local heritage sites and their preservation

▪️Writing letters to the editor, or articles in the local newspaper, on issues of local heritage sites

Please Document the Local Heritage Sites near your school with the help of students and teachers and submit it to us, we can promote it to the world around us. Also we display it in our UNGC WEBSITE FOR GLOBAL PUBLIC VIEWS.
