THE STATES AND STAGES OF PERFORMANCE
We perform for an outcome and then wait for the results of the outcome. Here let's concentrate on the various states and stages of every performance and perhaps the results of an adequate performance can follow. Let's be candid with ourselves, every life process is a performance and to quote Robert Greene's "The laws of nature we show various faces for various purposes and when a purpose is achieved, we wait for the next to come".

Upon every success comes the period that is best appreciated and more likely to be accepted by the masses. Most expects develope various procedures and the best is mostly applied simply because it gets us more closer than ever to the true outcome. The more the results oriented procedures the more likely we are inclined for a true outcome the better our state of performance. As to whether we improve this or not depends on our understanding and measure of state and stage of performance we wish achieve.

The greatest state and stage to perform is yet to determined, however during every performance lies the desire to do more. When the successes outweigh the failures another form of routine emerges. We become experts in our craft, geniuses perfectionist and the many more we can think of. This is a stage where challenges are negligible as we could rise up in our sleep and offer the best performance ever. It is also a stage where the influence of society and community is easily forgotten. Most folks in the community will be inclined to say that, well he has had all, nothing can stop him now. On the contrary this is the period most high performance crave fo the company and wish they were still in tune with the basics.

So why do most take a nose dive at these stages. There is simply one explanation, boredom. Boredom in missing the basic awareness that used to wake us up in the night, in meeting a particular neighbour and realising that look in the eye which says, "I know you can make it". These are not just words, they are that which makes and unmakes us and when performers miss such periods they easily become bored and go down the drain.

There is also a notion that every performer has a peak and a low. The science being that the more we age the lower our performance rate. Well this ideology might any moment from now be further scrutinised. There are professions which directly relate performance to the strength and power of the body and since everyone eventually ages, there is that correlation vividly taking place in professions such as football, some forms of athletics, and more prominently the very obvious; the act of reproduction. Reproduction is not a profession anyway but since it concerns the basic activity which keeps humanity going, it's pleasant to mention it here.

The awareness of this better puts everyone's career in place. The wisdom that we have roughly twenty years in this profession might help us plan life better. We get to know when to step up and step down, when to remain neutral and when to engage and last but not the least when to lay down our boots. We should also note that laying down one's boots in one area doesn't imply a complete retirement in all aspects of life.

There are so many professions that simply wouldn't imply a complete exertion the whole human body. There are those that use the mind more than the physical body. There are also those that see to it that, we get more amused and actually reduce the process of aging. When we take all these into consideration, the diligent and astute minds simply have no retirement. There are cases such as, some of the unavoidable diseases of old age, which might require a limitation in one area or another. In absence of these however, we pray to age in grace and when we lay down our boots, it simply implies rest.
