A Days Work
The house was absolutely massive, how it had been so well hidden away by the smaller houses around it, amazed her. The red bricks seemed to shine in the mid-morning sun. From the distance she counted twelve medium sized windows.
"Wow" She gasped, as she admired its beauty. It didn't take her long to approach the massive steel gates that had giant black cats and stars artistically made into the gates. She couldn't catch her breath at the beauty of the place as she entered. The scene blew her away, there was a slated garden path that led all the way to the small porch, where the solid dark wood varnished door was awaiting her arrival. In the centre of the left side of the lawn, was a willow tree, standing as proudly as a tree could, around the outside of both sides of the lawns there was flower beds all the way around with the brightest cheerful flowers she had ever been graced with viewing in person. On the right side of the lawn instead of a tree there was infact a beautiful pound with a cat water fountain, in the middle made of grey stype of stone. She couldn't deny that it fitted in very well, in such a beautiful place.
Getting to the steps of the porch, she took a deep breath, as none of the windowss had any net curtains, but instead they had the black taped diamond shapes in all of the buiding, she couldn't help being taken in so much by the beauty.
"This is amazing" She whispered to herself, reaching for the vintage door knocker. Suddenly feeling a little more excited about her new job role.
"Ah, you must be Hannah" n elderly man remarked as he opened the door to her.
"I am, indeed" she answered
"Well, do come in" he said, "You can't work from standing out there" he added, she guessed that was meant as a joke, so she smiled lightly at him, following him into a room that was very dark and out dated antique shelves filled with books, clearly this was their very own library. "Basically the plan here is to move all these books into another room down the hall, which has been refurbished as a more modern library, you see my wife spends alot of time with these books and she wanted to upgrade" He explained
"Great" Hannah replied happily
"I trust you will be ok to do this" He replied, she nodded
"Of course" She found herself agreeing, as he gave her the short tour of where she would be working, already picking up that Mr Williams was a straight to the point with no-nonsence kind of guy.
As the day went on Hannah carried out her duties happy to be doing something constructive with her day time, as she had been becoming very bored not working, as from the day she left school she had been from job to job through an agency she had joined and had been with them ever since, even now at twenty-eight years old she as still within the same agency. Moving boxes of books from room to room wasn't that bad a job, she knew this job was only contracted for a month but she knew by then there would be another job to go too.
"So...I guess your our new employee then" A voice said from the doorway. Hannah placed the box down onto another and glanced towards the doorway, noticing very handsome male figure leaning against the door frame with his arms folded across his chest. His hair as spiked up looking very stylish and had brunette coloured hair, stage two stubble and was dressed in a grey suit, with a white shirt, she stared for a moment longer than she should have, but she was very taken in by his presence.
"That I am" She finally found herself agreeing, "Hannah" she added putting out her hand to shake his very formally, as she was working after all.
"Connor" He answered, "Do you want some help?" he offered
"Um..I dunno if Mr Williams would be to happy"
"It would be ok, I'm his son" he told her
"Oh" she answered, "Wouldn't he be annoyed employing me if you do help?"
"Like I said, it will be cool" He reassured her. He left the room and she guessed that he'd gone to retrieve some boxes up books, which he did. Working a long side him she realized they had found they had loads in common, it felt as though they had known each other for years even though they had only just met, laughing at each other. She continued to enjoy his company throughout the day. Mr Williams soon came to check on the progress.
"Didn't realize you were in here too" He said to Connor
"Yeah, thought I'd help out for a bit"
"Bet you did" Mr Williams replied to Hannah handing her, her wages for the days work she had done.
"Thank you, I'll be back tomorrow at the same time" She assured him
"Good" He replied
"Where are you going now?" Connor asked her curiously
"To Benny's maybe" She admitted
"Mind if I tag along?"
"No not at all."

Hannah took a step back to reflect on her day, ass she watched Connor ordering food and drink for them both, she smiled, as she thought about how great her day was, a few days ago she was bored, to now having a job and a date within twenty four hours, life had turned around for her, something she hoped would continue to happen in a positive manner, than a negative one.
"Who knows what life can throw at someone, you have to hold on to the positive days the best you can" She thought to herself.
