With a lady on bed with a probable fracture, Trisha was locked in the beautiful snow. The very snow which had seemed enticing a few moments ago felt like an enemy right now. "Ok, Trisha, keep your wits about you, you are a smart girl"- she perked herself up. She boiled some water and poured it into a hot water bottle and packed Pyari in a heap of blankets and duvets. Then she decided to walk towards the road and try to find someone, praying for Srinivas to return.
She herself packed up for the bitter cold. She tossed the lone coin she had and heads for East, tails for West. North-south would have to wait for next time. Heads it came so she walked towards east. By good luck, as she turned the corner, there was a little upward accent and on the hillock there was the most beautiful castle type of a building you could imagine. She ran uphill and opened the huge iron gates. She walked through snow to the main door and hit the bell. The door was opened by a butler type of a man, around 60-65 years of age. He gave her a very welcoming smile and invited her in.
She was shown into the huge atrium and sat down on the plush sofa.
" I need help, can you call 108 ambulance please? An old lady needs immediate medical attention.. " she blurted as fast as she could. "Relax ma'am, she will soon be on her way to the hospital. In the meantime, make yourself comfortable and let me bring our famous Himachal Kangra Green tea for you.Who is with her right now? Where is Srinivas?"
" That's the problem. I am all alone there. Srinivas was not there when I woke up this morning." She was almost lost at the depressed memory of her first night, when she heard a man say" Who is it Rajan.." "It's Srinivas's wife Sir. Pyari has fallen and is hurt, this lady has come asking for help..." She looked up at the new man, seemed like a 30 something arrogant man. " Ok-ok, take her to the hospital. I am going to the club. Will be back by evening. And send a search for Srinivas, tell him to have dinner with me along with his wife tonight".
Trisha was stunned at the arrogant behaviour but had to appreciate his helping attitude as well. What's their relation to Srinivas? So she was not in a tourist spot. Srinivas actually lived in Shimla. There were a 100 questions in her minds- a 1000 doubts and it scared the hell out of her.....
