Letter From A Lost Loved One
#WritcoStoryPrompt4
Dearest Friend, as I'm sure you're aware. I passed away two years ago. I understand the immense shock you might be feeling but I went on too long watching you from afar and I can't stand seeing you suffer as if that's the only way to pay homage to me. I knew I mattered to you when I died, too often we put love in a box it can't comfortably fit in. One of the many reasons I've been fond of our friendship was because you gave me an outlet for my frustrations and bleak thoughts, a shoulder to cry on when I needed it, and a hand when I couldn't find my own footing. My appreciation for the times we shared didn't deminish because of my death. The vessel my soul was inhabiting gave out, not the indominiable spirit you helped nourish with your company, time, and love. If you want to respect and honor my legacy, tell my loved ones how much I still love them. I look forward to watching you live your best days without thinking you owe me a certain amount of remorse because I would've preferred if I didn't need to reach out to you to express something I sincerely wished to convey without words. I'll see you when your journey's "over".
Love, Your Dearest Departed Friend.
