During the period of Ambubachi from the seventh to the tenth day of the Hindu month of "Asadha" (22 June to 25 June) every year, the doors of the shrine are closed to all as it is believed that Goddess Kamakhya goes through the annual cycle of menstruation.
In Guwahati (Assam) Maa Kamakhya temple is there and it is the most Vibrant and Powerful Shaktipeeth where Yoni (genitals, womb) of Maa Sati fell after Shiva tandav (dance of destruction) with the corpse of Sati and every year during a period of 22 June to 25 June, Maa goes through her annual cycle of menstruation. During this period, from whole world saint s, Sadhakas, Aghories, Monks and Devotees reach there to get those powerful and divine vibes to upsurge their spiritual energies. Because during this time feminine energy is universe remain on peak due to Menstrual energy of Maa Kamakhya.
