Stars are far away
#WritcoStoryPrompt33
"It's a girl! "
The doctor gushed, placing the wailing infant on the woman's chest.
She heaved trying to catch her breath in the aftermath of her gruelling labour. Tears of pain mingled briefly with tears of joy before dissolving into tears of sadness.
She had once again given birth to a girl! Her third daughter. What would her husband and in-laws do to her now?...
She closes her eyes and two tears leave her eyes and takes a walk to her ears. Her brain travels to the past when she used to be a baby girl.

"Dad, how far are these stars?"

"Very far away, my angel!"

When she used to watch these stars in childhood, she used to say with enthusiasm that "I will go to those stars". She used to shout all over the house saying "I will become an astronaut" . At that time these stars were her world, in which she used to live her present and used to dream her future. But she didn't know that not everyone has the freedom to dream. When, two more little fairies came to that house and then a little prince, the wings of that fairies were cut off. Backward thinking of this society has put fetters on her feet. The windows of his dreams were closed. Instead of books, she got scramble, instead of school, she was pushed into the kitchen. And then, she was married. She had no right to dream. For her, the stars was far away.

And today, she is a mother of a girl. And now, all this will happen again with that baby, now her wishes, her dreams will be killed or her baby girl. That is why she will take her child away from this society, to somewhere where her daughter will dream and she will have complete freedom to live those dreams.

A few hour later...
The night is turning black like a scary dream. There is silence all around at the bus stand, everyone is sleeping there but a woman, holding a small child in her arms, is sitting scared on a corner bench. She has covered her face with the shawl and she runs her eyes all around. She takes out the water bottle with trembling hand and drink some water. She looks at that child and kisses her forehead No stars will be far away from you!
