Defeat
The morning was as cold as if it were  dark, and all was silent.

The slanting gaze of the setting blue sky gave a comfort cloudy fog to half the sky that seems to go on forever, without the hint of any sun.

It was hidden to ablaze the fire ray of the setting sun.

Even the sound of the whipping winds of combat that raged within  no longer could be contained.

The only evidence of it ever having been barrier at the outset being the thick, layered blankets of invisible glass forcefield
covering the walls in all directions, along with the visible diamond crystals that had occurred as a result of an duel raging on.

What should have been an sight akin to a battlefield vortex arena, was visibly tainted, fragments  of school-based set an  academy the ice crystals of  the diamond barriers coded each any of the two players low health on their side reached to them crimson red......

It must have been seven in the morning. They had been here so long it was hard to tell and at which Rico  looked through the hours blended with each player against the other.

With the rest of the defeated  watched a root  aside  the last two  left standing,  on the back of her  wristwatch.

She moved on pushed several bunched up  trainers had blocked her way the shot forward towards the front seats the see all the action, low complaints it shoving elbows of their own being bothered during the  main event discomforts her mood from the very far back.

Raada Raada Raadda Bam Bam!

"Argh!"

Her eyes widened open when Taki lost  his balance weight on the  blast radius  threw him flying   out a curved en route toward the edge of his temple.

Skid across the pavement ninety degrees to the side, of Rico.

She  step down the curl her  forearms up to shake  Taki  awake his  ragged breaths penetrating  the barrier of silence, by  the final blow.

It originated from a tall  young   navy-blue haired  boy, no older then twelve or thirteen.  He struggled to remain on his feet, to had stumble on back down.

The rest of the competitors watched from behind, their hearts  skip to mouths agape the stay rooted in place.

He  fought once more to keep his  footing, having failed in the light of  the wind,  as he dropped his deck of cards disappear in front of him, eraed off the bulletin-board as K.O

She looked up and the winner dressed all in turquoise was announced the winner by the announcer lifting his arms up.

The riding herd all over it almost knocked Rico down, used all her will-power to drag themselves out of the way.

Watched as his victory of first tournaments of the past few years excited centipede scurried at his bidding.

Youch, Taki that has got to hurt," said Rico.

It is finally here," she propped the envelope out against folded in her pockets. I at last got the notice I been waiting for.

I've been approved to enter the card battle tournament at card tower! Didn't make it as far as you did, but hey they always say better luck next three  years ehehehe!"

Taki belly-crawled the last three  yards through the underbrush over Rico's feet, making his way up on his own.

"So yours finally came, did it Kaito!?  Shouted Taki.

The invitation to next year card  battle tournament?"

She looked to the left side end  of the hallway  Kaito laughing cheerfully escalator laid on down the trainers hands his ride back to the floor.

Hmph," he spoke. Is that so.... Taki? He took a deep breathe across Kaito's crossing a smug over his face with a little cackle between his words. That may be so Taki, but sure hell you ain't coming."

Why you-" Before he had the chance to speak, Kaito was already gone.

Argh! What a cool collected cucumber,"  he mumbled.

But you know, I should be the one appearing in next tournament this year! Me losing to him of all people...."

Once she heard his determined words, she couldn't help but to began to cackle.

"Ehehehehe! What do you mean you should be participating in the next special tournament this year!?"
You got to be joking.

You lost fair an square against Kaito. I guess it was all in the cards..."

Hey, what do you mean Rico?" He asked.

Well, Kaito father is Makito, the card fighter expert who created Card Tower!"

" Not helping, Rico! Sigh, he shifted his gaze towards all the fun fuss direct for Kaito an his farther celebrating at the other half of the classroom.

His breaths began to slow down, pushing his way further to to the door.

I no fit to be Card Fighter anyway, mind as well accept the L on the biggest loser with broken promises. The biggest joke back in school. Hey, hey hold the phone!" Rico commanded the janitor finished his rounds cleaning up mess. Wait huh?"  Taiki questioned.

He paused for a second he stood right back near Rico, have  blinked his eyes rapidly.

"Oh..... my ...... god! Rico's mouth gave out. No way Taiki! Look at the list of alternatives!

Look right here bone-head! This is you're name isn't it!?"

[Please choose you're name, special gift available awaits you fallen champion]

An articulate young female spoke beyond back in time.

"Wow, Taiki snapped out of it, an choose his name for it. My name will be Taki!"

[Tsk, you really are brickwall when it comes to new names.]
[Whatever, this will do]

Her voice resounded in his head floating him  in mid-air a sudden flash  of light blinded him to the same timeline-to defeat from another trainer making it that far to Taki different  trainer kid   from him just  seeing his old-self.

Wow, that really is my name," Taki giggled.

I feel so good an to stylish for my taste, this can't be just because my old clothes.

Alright, I so settling things once in for all against Kaito.

He tucked his head down to give a look at his legs, comes a guy walking up towards him with the same kind of shoes the last time he met him that felt really familiar.

If it isn't Kaito with the fuss as much like  paparazzi! What up man?!"

Katio scoffed, set aside  Taki's hand out for handshake regaining his composure clearing his throat. I haven't lost you to yet Taki."

"Eh-ehehe? What's his problem?"

Rico waited a bit down the  trainers line as of Kaito clamoring on out the classroom to enter the spot  out her best friend Taki dusted her again to the academy tournament affairs.

That I guess that's what you called "male bounding, resounded Rico.

His first time I seen him ever intimidated, it being you other then the fact.

Hey no kidding," Taki titled his head from scratching it in confusion, gestured to where else there suppose to be.

Let's go book, Rico. We got long road of battles ahead of us."

"You're gonna do all the fighting for us right?

Taki didn't answer, as she  tag-along. Ri-right, Taki?"
