SHE SHARES HER DAUGHTER'S DREAM
"Do you believe in dreams?", asked the little girl to her mother. Her mother replied, "hmm... that's an interesting question, why do you ask?", was the replied that her mother gave. The little girl was excited, when her mother asked for the reason, she was thrilled, so she answered, "well, mother I have dreams, thousands of dreams, and I would like to fulfill each one! Yes mother, I will." Although, the little girl didn't really answered her, the mother know her daughter too well, so, after a moment of flashback, she kissed her daughter goodnight and says," yes, my little pumpkin, I know you will. I love you. Nightnight." She tugged her daughter in, turn off the lights and left her daughter's room.
After closing the door, she sigh a deep sigh. As she did that, her wrinkles, her lines were deeply visible.
She went back to her room, look herself in the mirror and there it was, the truth concealing behind those layers of make-up, her beautiful scars! another flashback starts—she cried herself to sleep, longing for her husband , who is up in heaven. Silence prevails, so is darkness and the hooting owls and that of crickets, in short, she was with nature's grace .
Not long ago, when Natalie was just a teenager, she had the perfect family. Her parents were rich, not that she really cared about! They were the best parents that everybody could dream of, they never fought nor quarrel, they were kind to her, and they were her biggest supporters, she was loved by her parents and she loved them back too. All she had was soon to crumble. As she grew older, so did her mindset, her body, her thinking, her feelings and so on- she had a dream! Hers was normal, just like every teenager dreams,..she dreamed of having a perfect husband and a perfect family. One day, during her class hours, she got the news that her father died, due to heart attack. No sooner she reached home, her mother embraced her in her bosom and began weeping ceaselessly. A funeral for her father was conducted. After bidding her father goodbye, they buried him off. Natalie, the perfect girl was no longer perfect, she had lost her father and soon her mother too, ofcourse she wasn't aware. Fate was cruel to her. Her mother begin to change, she took to her heart deeply. She was in utter shock, for she loved her husband so dearly. just after 3 months of her husband's death, she soon join him, she died of heart failure. Natalie was shattered beyond repair, all that she has left was confiscated by her greedy relatives. In order to save herself, she knew she can't stay broken, so she picked herself up and start working part time jobs, and got through highschool, and gradually, with every passing years, she finally graduated. Got her degree, and has a steady job, met a guy and finally married him.
Leaving everything behind she thought, at last , she was finally leaving her dream, it was incomplete until she was pregnant. Now her life was perfect. Soon they had a daughter and they were happy. Indeed they were, until, one day her husband left her alone to raise their daughter on her own. Her husband died of cancer. once again, she stood on the same platform as that of years ago when her parents had left her. Her daughter was just two months old. "This is getting old", she thought looking up into the sky with her mourning eyes. She slept off that night closing her drowsy eyes, exhausted and weary from her 10 days of mourning. At last, she broomed herself and think straight ahead. she may have lost her husband, but she still has her daughter to look after. Thinking this, she restart her life again, she was sad and broken beyond repair but she knows that she needed to change for her daughter's sake, so saying, she worked hard and raise her daughter like a lioness....Her daughter was her everything, she lived for her daughter and that gives her the strength to go on each day.
The little girl was 3years already and just started school, one day, her teacher asked randomly, "do you believe in dreams?"..and she left the Little girl thinking. The little spend her day thinking what her teacher had asked. As night sets in, and bedtime arrives, she knew her mother will tugged her in so she waited and waited, as she was determined to ask the question to her mother. After long hours of waiting, Natalie finally comes in, the little girl was on a mission, so she asked, "do you believe in dreams?".....Her mother was taken aback however she knows her daughter heart. As innocent as she herself was once, she said, "Ofcourse I do, pumpkin, you are my dream come true, why do you ask? was her reply.
Yes, she was broken, yes she was shattered ,yes she was broken beyond repair, but no she didn't let her stop from dreaming, knowing the truth about the world, she has a hope, she has a new dream—she wants her daughter to live that dream! amidst the raging storms that once hits her life, she still dreams and shares in her daughter's dreams and that is her new dream, She believed in herself and her dreams.
