in the early evening a storm comes it's a bad one everyone is inside sheltering themselves in the cozy homes they live inside of

the streets are empty puddles are dirty bodies are washing into the lake

as anna and mary are sleeping a lightning bolt comes crashing in the grass and everything around it is on fire

Anna wakes up and slowly looks out the window

"what the"
said anna

the bright fire fills the sky

mary aka the one that's been telling the story since the very beginning starts to wake up

mary goes up to anna and asks

"what happened"

she looks out the window to see flames burning

anna and mary quickly go outside


they see that people are already putting out the fire

anna walks to one of the firefighters and says

"what caused this fire"

the firefighter replies

"a lightning bolt hit the grass then caught on fire"

anna goes up to mary and tells her all the things the firefighter said

2 days later

mary and anna go outside the zone to get some supplies from the local store

mary goes up to get some beans

anna goes to get anything that hasn't expired

"how are we gonna eat we can't eat beans forever"
said anna

"we'll make a farm I guess"
mary replied

as anna walks out the store she sees smoke

"hey mary I think we found someone"
said anna

mary goes outside to see smoke as well

mary points at the hill and says

"come on our jobs are helping people"

anna and mary go up the hill to see smoke coming out of a restaurant

"I think there's a fire"
said anna

anna and mary rush down the hill and opens the door

a soldier points a gun and anna and mary

the soldier looks at them and says

"who are you"

"were just helping as much as we can"
said mary

"I'm sorry just never seen anyone in a long time"
said the soldier

mary replies

"we have a whole safe zone with people and we got food"

the soldier is amazed and says

"food I'm starving"

the soldier goes with anna and Mary back to the safe zone

and they bring him back to their house

"so who are you"
said anna

the soldier replies

"I'm nantz served in the military"

"so your a soldier"
said mary

nantz replies

"yes I lost my wife nearly 4 years ago

"I'm anna and that's mary"
said anna

mary looks at nantz and says

"do you know how any of this happened"

nantz replies

"not really but after the apocalypse happened the government sent us all to canada I stayed but we hoped if we sent soldiers to Canada we'll be able to take back los Angeles"

"why specifically los Angeles"
said mary

nantz replies

"the ground your standing on has valuable resources so we gotta take back LA"
