A siren and then the juddering sound of a vehicle being started. The deadline to carry out the mission had finally dawned on him, though a lot more faster than he had expected.
A black cloth stretched and leaned all over the horizon, its smooth and perlite surface embroidered with dark,greyish and grimy tufts of clouds that would often weave their way into the other’s territory and then retreat back as they would see the others coming ,like the game of tag .
The sky was beautiful and accurate. But not perfect unlike his wife’s cloth work—"Jimena, the perfectionist” he used to call her when ever she used to sew his clothes, and he used to sit down there ,getting lost in the rhythm and the swiftness of the needle work.
The sky had one flaw. The moon—which to many others was a jewel, a precious stone that guided and helped the vulnerable but to him it was the ore of a virus. The origin through which the disease had spread throughout his country, his state.
“The one flaw that could take his life", he thought as his gaze stopped at the Ravenson forest beneath the moon. Twigs, rustles and overgrown bushes stood there waiting to pounce on him at the entrance but the real danger lurked inside. The vicious beasts who could torn a person to shreds in just a second .
“Was he willing to sacrifice himself for the good of his people", he thought and just then swiftly and abruptly, a voice in his head said...
