Gender!! 🤔

We're all on a grey scale in one big open zone,
And in some parts of the world, you have to be a certain gender in order to make decisions on your own.
I must confess that I am some what confused with all the different labels floating around as well as the politics of gender.
Recently I've come to discover that there's a big difference between gender identity and sexual orientation.
I am not an expert on the subject but according to google, gender identity is about who you are, how you feel, the sex that you feel yourself to be.
So sex is a matter of biology, while gender is a matter of grammar, and there is no earthly reason why sex should be involved in gender distinctions.
While sexual orientation is who you're attracted to. And gender means you can identity as he she or the old lady.
I really don't see gender as the most significant fact of human existence.
Recently everytime i picked up my phone, there's a different reel popping up of people debating what determines a real woman, although it goes without saying!!
I have my own opinion, and I don't feel any amount of surgery can change the gender you where assigned to at birth, that's science!!
However, if someone prefer to be referred to outside of the gender they where assigned then that should be respected.
But in doing so we must not just pay attention to gender, because it is difficult to pay attention to gender all by itself.
It emerges differently in our lives because it hooks onto other markers such as race, class, sexual orientation and age.
Personally I just wish sometimes that people would treat each other like human beings rather than seeing a person's gender first and who they are second.
I find the question of whether gender differences are biologically determined or socially constructed to be very debatable.
It's like treading in deep and muddy waters.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could all live in a gender-equal society, one where the word 'gender' does not exist.
The problem with gender is that it prescribes how we should be rather than recognising who we really are as human beings.
I say, just be who you want to be, whatever makes you happy. If a man, be one, If a woman, be so.
We are people, individuals comprising of a variety of sexes, races, shifting sexualities and all the rest of it.
Gender is but a shell game, what is a man? Answer.... whatever a woman is not!!
What is a woman?
Answer...... whatever a man is not!!
Tap on it and it's hollow, so take a good look underneath the shell.
Where you are likely to find so much love, beauty and aspirations.
Because people are people regardless of skin, creed and gender.
Biologically, everyone is male and female, light and dark, flesh and spirit, all the same underneath it all.
And so in the present confusion between the sexes, lets put aside all the labels and forget about the politics of it all.
And start treating each other with the respect they deserve.
Take the time to search yourself, and recognise what is written on your heart then seek those things that matters the most.
And when you've discovered the things that means the most to you.
Do you, what you feel is right, most importantly, surround yourself with the people you care about in this world. Those are the things that counts in this life.
Because the most basic question is not what is best, but who shall decide what's best?
So learn how to be comfortable in your own skin despite what you see and hear or what others may think.
Don't change because of belief, because a belief is nothing more than a repeated thought which you have chosen to embrace and implement in your own life, so be careful what you believe. Bottom line.... do whatever makes you happy and you'll be fine!!
