THE DEAL (part 5 of book)
Chapter 20 Attire for dinner
In each room was a dressing room with an arrangement of fresh clothes for each person. David fingered his way through the saville row shirts, the designer suits, jeans and other such commodities that were there and decided if it was going to be his last night on earth he may as well feel good about but comfortable at the same time as he slid on a pair of cream linen trousers and a cool cotton shirt with a small motif on the left side of the chest probably designer but David would not know as he wasn’t exactly what you would call fashion conscious as he tried out several expensive aftershaves on his wrist to decide which one to wear and settled on Fahrenheit as he eyes himself in the mirror thinking I don’t scrub up to bad as he’d also had a shave. Ellie opened the wardrobe door and was presently surprised to find an array of dresses, blouses, skirts shorts and jeans and settled on a set of linen trousers and a silk blouse and mid to high heels and obviously they wouldn’t have her favourite fragrance here but Angel would do nicely as she looked herself up and down and thought this will do I don’t want to put to much effort in. Cindy however opened the door found the most beautiful black lace and linen dress with a halter neck and sequinned sown the side and a pair of high heels and pure poison fragrance and thought oh if they could see me now those who treat me so badly as she was 1st to walk the down the stairs noticing the butlers eyes all over her. Cindy couldn’t resist and gave him a cheeky wink and slid her finger into her mouth teasingly as she walked past much to his appraising eyes as she sat at the table awaiting the other two. David was the next down and Cindy watched him as he walked down looking like a totally different man now to whom she had first met and he sat across from her not wanting to try and be dominant by sitting at the head of the table because let’s face it not one of them in that room was capable of feeling dominant let alone being dominant given the situation. Ellie walked down the stairs looking as elegant as she could but inside a rage burned she was angry not only at the voice from the speaker but at herself for being so foolish thinking that anybody would give away a million pound away without there being a catch. She composed herself and sat down at the table. All 3 of the, watching each other the mood was a little tense to say the least as they were served lobster Thermidor and cracked crab and dauphinois potatoes with a side of chips or salad and warm bread with whatever beverage they chose to have from the vast menu in front of them. They all ate and drunk well that night but each of the players very quiet as the clock struck eleven and the butler now appeared and said “ I’m sorry but it’s time for me to go home I shall show each of your to your rooms and bid you a good nights rest as we have a very busy day ahead of us tomorrow. Cindy was very quick to interject with “ hold on a minute what happened to Paul’s money and the butler laughed and said “ oh my how silly of me and produced the cheque to Cindy as to which David and Ellie asked how comes she gets the cheque. Just at that moment the voice from the speaker spoke “ Cindy gets the money because she was clever enough to realise the whole race was on sensors and didn’t set them off now if you don’t mind I’ve had a very tiring day as has my butler so we shall bid you goodnight.
Chapter 21 SLEEP TIME
Each of the players were shown to their rooms. Ellie stretched herself out on the bed and was asleep within minutes. David sat on his bed thinking why had no alarms been raised as to why he was still here whereas CIndy had other things on her mind. She searched through the room and found the sexiest set of lingerie she could find and put it on an all in one red lace bodice with the sides cut pit to accentuate her figure with white stockings and suspenders and a set of high heels. She laid on her bed thinking this could all be worth the cash as she made her way to the door and quietly walked across the landing and tapped on David’s door and whispered are you awake. David opened his door and looked at her his mouth wide open as he ushered her inside and said “ what the hell are you doing Cindy” she smiled shyly as she splayed herself out on the bed and said “ this could be our last night alive and if it is why don’t we just enjoy it as she beckoned him over with one finger teasingly as he walked towards her and she slid her fingers to zip on his trousers and slowly released him for a night of pleasure that may be his last and if it wasn’t he wouldn’t ever forget it that was for sure.
Chapter 22 BREAKFAST
In all three rooms the alarms went off simultaneously creating a symphony of noise within the huge mansions. David woke slowly and certainly was no morning person until he had his first cigarette and cup of tea which was quite strange because he hadn’t cigarette since he had arrived but he wanted one now so he opened the doors to the balcony and thought about what had happened last night. Had he dreamt it or did Cindy really visit in his room. Ellie awoke with a start but nine the less got up showered put on her make up and got dressed before pulling the curtains open. She looked out on to a vast landscape of rolling hills and rivers and lakes and the sun was just starting to rise as dread hit her and she thought what were they to endure today. Cindy however screamed at the alarm bell and threw the pillow over her head screaming fuck off its way too early as she like David had thoughts of last night and found herself wet between the covers but the wetter she became the colder it got until she realised the whole bed was soaked and there it was the voice through the speaker saying the beds had all been fitted with built in hoses that if one should refuse to get up they would be made to get up. This infuriated Cindy but she realised to shout was fruitless the voice would have only laughed at her. At around eight a.m the voice said breakfast is prepared in the great hall and all three made their way down the winding staircase at the same time. The butler bought through a magnificent full English breakfast. Cindy eyes lit up and she looked at the butler and said just what I need a good piece of meat in the morning and she looked in David’s direction who tried very hard to hide his uncomfortableness at the whole scene as it replayed in his head and he had realised his mistake for Cindy certainly did it look half as appetising in the mornings as she did last night, When the butler had disappeared David spoke and said isn’t is strange how nobody has made any enquiries as to why we are still here. Ellie started to reply but was rudely interrupted by the voice from the speaker saying “ those that needed to know that you were staying overnight had been informed” Ellie screamed this is ridiculous who do you think you are to hold us captive like this. The voice calmly replied “ A contract is a contract and you digitally signed those the moment you walked through the door my dear Elizabeth” the rest of breakfast was silent with the odd look from Cindy towards David’s direction and vice versa.
Chapter 23 Game 3
The butler kindly said “ please follow me and were told they would need to change for the first game of the day. They went to the changing room this time no separate room they were all in it together as they changed. David’s eyes flitting from CIndys body to Ellie’s as he changed as quick as he could. The butler met them outside and said well “ how high the stakes have climbed” and laughed. They were the lead to a room where there was a makeshift rock face of at least 75 ft tall with proper grip rails and foot holds. It was explained there was no safety gear but carful as there were pitfalls along the way should you make it to the top. Each was given a straw to draw and David had drawn the shortest one so he was to climb first. David nervously gripped the first hand grab and started to climb.” Ten feet he was doing well “ said the butler as the ground had opened up below David exposing sharp spikes from the floor should he fall there was enough spikes to make sure he died a slow painful death. Twenty five feet up a spike shot out of the wall almost piercing David’s body. David stopped and looked below him realising there was no way but up from here continued to climb. He then noticed certain grab holds had lights he reached for one as he did another spike shot out of the wall and he had sussed it the lights were touch sensitive so he avoide those and made the rest of the climb to the top but it wasn’t easy by any means. Cindy was next to climb and made a comment that she would rather blow her own head off than make the climb. The butler produced a hand gun from his pocket and said “well it can always be arranged “ Cindy went white with fear and started for the rails. She was aware of the spikes in the floor but not the short ones within the wall. She hesitantly started to climb as she made her way up she was thinking this was too easy as all of a sudden. Spike shot out and pierced her shoulder. She screamed in agony as she felt the blood dripping from her shoulder but continued to climb. She was certainly tougher than she looked as another spike pierced her thigh almost sending her off the rock face this time. She knew she couldn’t jump back down for this spikes awaited her and below Ellie was watching with eyes concentrated on the foot holds and grab rails as all of a sudden a spike had shot out and struck Cindy straight in the eye piercing her eyeball and severing deep inside her scull. David at the top screamed with anger as he watched CIndys body fall to the floor onto the spikes splattering her brain and internal organs all over the place. Ellie was next and she thought she had it sussed now as she had seen the light like David but could she be sure they were the same lights every time. She took hold and started to climb studying each rail before taking the next. Her foot slipped from one of the holds and a spike shot out and just caught her lower leg by the calf. It was superficial wound and she carried on climbing not daring to look down as David shouted out words of encouragement to her even though this seemed strange because of she were to die now he would’ve won the 5 million and walked away. Ellie her hair matted with sweat and her wound bleeding fell into David’s arms at the top and she sobbed uncontrollably that she didn’t know how much more she could take before she broke.
