narrow mind
One day a little boy walked into a famous restaurant. With cheerful steps and a little running, the little boy sat on one of the empty benches there. "Very crowded." he muttered. The little boy then raised his hand to call one of the restaurant waiters. A female servant immediately came over to the little boy with a food menu book.

"What do you want, little brother?" Asked the servant. "How much is the price of a serving of ice cream covered in strawberries and chocolate?" The child asked back, pointing to one of the pictures on the restaurant wall.

"2 dollars." Answer the waiter in a friendly manner. The boy then put his hand in his pocket and took out a few coins and counted them. "How much for the ice cream without strawberries and chocolate?" "1 Dollar." replied the waiter slightly oddly.

The boy then put his hand in his other pocket, he took out another change, and started counting them. "If the ice cream is without strawberries and chocolate, and how much is only half a portion?" "Half a Dollar!" replied the waiter somewhat curtly. "Fine, I'll just order that." Said the boy again.

The waiter immediately returned to the kitchen. A few moments later the waiter returned to the child's table with the order. The boy immediately ate the ice cream with gusto. After the ice cream was eaten, the waiter returned to meet the child with a receipt.

"All half a dollar." Said the waiter as he handed the note to the child. The boy then took out all his change and gave it to the servant. "It's half a dollar." He said. Then, the boy's hand reached into his back pocket and pulled out a 10 Dollar bill. "And here are tips for you." The boy said while handing over the 10 dollars.

Indeed, sometimes humans only see things from the outside. Even we ourselves often experience it. The busyness and complexity of everyday events can make a person forget to "look deeper" in the people around him. It is only natural that someone who is already wearing a suit starts to underestimate people who only wear T-shirts.

But the story above can remind us again, that something valuable sometimes arises from mediocre things. Fortune can come from unexpected directions, that the human eye is sometimes too narrow to be able to see the spectrum of a person's personality. Like the rain that can still fall when the sun is shining hot.
