Through my eyes.
My best friend love to play tennis. It was his dream to be a professional tennis player and play in the Olympics.
His name is Shin Woo and my name is Mary Soo.
This is the story of how his dream came true.

"woahhhhhhhhh! Shin.", I cheered him on as he hit the ball again.
I could see that he had become distracted but I did not stop shouting.
I should have stopped shouting.
BAM!!!!
The next thing I knew he was on the ground.
He had been too distracted by my shouting. Shin did not see the ball in time. It had hit him square, between the eyes and he passed out.
I stopped shouting, I stopped thinking. I just started running, I ran like I was about to get eaten by a lion. Staying by his side was the only thing that came to my mind.
Emergency services had come, I went with him, I couldn't stop crying. Shin's mother and little brother arrived at the hospital an hour after he was taken to the ICU.
"What happened?", his mom was calm but you could see the fear in her eyes.
"He had a match today, I was so excited, I wouldn't stop shouting. Shin got distracted and was hit by the tennis ball.", I was crying again.
When I looked up, Shin's mother was angry.
'SLAP!!!'
"If anything happens to my son, you will be at fault. I will never forgive you."
If anything happens to Shin I wouldn't be able to forgive myself.
The doctor had just left his room and walked toward us, this is it, is Shin fine.
"Doctor how is my son?", the woman didn't even wait for him to stop.
"He is fine, Shin is awake, and feeling alot better.", the doctor was not done yet, "I am so sorry ma'am but due the the injuries he sustained, your son has gone blind in both eyes."
"What.....so he is blind."
All his dreams, why can't I shut up. If I didn't distract him this would have never happened.
"I'm sorry", I whispered.
"It's to late for that, go......"
I looked at her wide eyed,"Mrs Woo, please I don.........."
"I mean go see him."I was more shocked now. "Just go see him!"

"S-Shin, How are you doing? Do you need anything?Tell me what I can do... please!", I was scared.
"You can leave!",why?
"Shin, please I just... "
"GET OUT!!", he shouted.
"Ok..... Shin I'm sorry."
"Well it's to late for that, now, don't you think.", did he hate me.
I walked slowly, quietly as I passed his glaring mother.
I continued to visit him everyday and he asked me to leave everyday.
"Honey, give her a chance... She is still your friend."
"S-S-Shin.... I, I, How are you doing?", I was nervous.
"Mary Soo, come here.", he held open his arms for her.
I ran into his arms and didn't want to let go.
Mrs Soo left to give them some time to talk.
"The Lenten season is starting, I am going to make a wish for you. I will wish for your implants to come soon.", I didn't let go of him.
"Stop...", he pushed me. "I don't believe in that stuff. You know that already.", he was angry, "THIS IS YOUR FAULT."
"I am sorry, Shin please.... I "
"My dream was to become a professional tennis player. Just like my dad. You took that from me. My dream is over."
"That is not true..."
"I CAN'T SEE!", sigh, "I hate you, please leave... now."

That evening the doctor told me that I was a match, Shin and I had the same blood type.
It took a week to arrange the donation.
Now, all that's left to do is to go see him.
"Shin, it's me, how are you doing. I need to talk to you."
"What do you want, now.", cold.
"Don't speak, please... just listen." I sat next to him and took his hand. He pulled away, "fine!"
"There is something I have to tell you, it's not very easy to say so don't speak." A deep breath, "I love you Shin Woo!", and I kissed him.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?", he pushed me.
I fell to the floor, "I like someone else.", he said.
I started crying, 'I just needed to see his face when I said it, I needed to remember his face... One last time.'
"Bye Shin",I said before leaving.
"Yeah, bye", still cold.

It was the day of the transplant. I was in the room next to him.
12 Hours later, I woke up... I could not cry. All I remember was darkness.

Shin had been in the hospital for a month now. It was time to take off the bandages.
An hour later, Mrs Woo enters my room.
"Hi, Shin is fine. They removed the bandages today." I sat up, and she started crying, "He can see again." I was happy, "Thank you Mary, and I am sorry."
A month later, we both got discharged. I transferred to a school for the blind and I did better then I expected.
Shin tried to contact me but I did not let him get to close to me.
He was my first love, my best friend, my first kiss.

It had been 2 year, I haven't seen him since.
We ended up moving back home, because I had developed an eye infection.
After a week, they had found me an implant.
'Bam!
Slam!'
"Mary, I missed you so much!.", Shin wakes into the hospital room and I hid me face."Why are you in the hospital?"
"I fell down the stairs at my new school, I had some minor injuries, but I still needed to be hospitalised", I said still hiding my face from him.
"Young man, I have to ask you to leave.", said a nurse that entered the room...it was time.
"I will see you soon Mary.": I heard him open the door, "Bye!"
"Bye", and that was it.
After the transplant, I Went back to the house and didn't leave at all.
Shin did not come to see me. I missed him.
After removing the bandages I had regain sight in one eye, it was limited but, I didn't care.
I could see again.
I moved away afterwards.

It took 3 years to fine me. Because, now Shin was in my house, 3 years later.
"Mary, why is it so dark?"
"I like it"
Then he asked, "How are you?"
"I am fine!"
"I had to tell you, Mary, I can't live without you.", I started crying, "I love you!"
"It took me a long time to find you. It was almost like you were hiding from me."
"I was"
"Why?", he was scared to ask the question.
"Switch on the light", I demanded, and he did.
He recognised his eye with the light, "you gave me your eyes?"
"I told you, I made a wish.", I said.
I explained everything to him."Shin, I love you too!" He kissed me.
"How does it look?"
"What?", he asked confused.
"Looking at life, THROUGH MY EYES.",I laughed.
"Amazing."

the end!
