Martha's lamenting could be heard in the neighborhood. She wailed and wailed, it broke her family's hearts.
They were deeply touched and moved by her sadness. They understood she had lost the one thing she adored for almost all her life.
She was going to miss those long walks, the games they played together and the meal times.
Martha didn't know what life was going to be without her besty. She was devasted.
Her eyes swelled from all the crying, she looked worse for wear. Her thick brown hair all scruffy, she refused to eat nor take a bath.
Her mum and dad felt really bad for her. Who was gonna replace Rambo?
So soon it was time to put Rambo to rest.
"Martha. It's time to let Rambo go now," her father spoke softly not wanting to offend her.
Martha sniffed and coughed a little, turned and looked at both her parents' compassionate faces and nodded.
And finally Rambo, the faithful family dog(named after Martha's favourite movie star) was laid to rest.
