PREVENTIVE DETENTION.
*Preventive Detention is an action taken on grounds of suspicion that some wrong actions may be done by the person concerned.
*Preventive Detention can however be made only on four grounds.The grounds for Preventive Detention are the following:-
1)security of the state.
2)maintenance of public order
3)maintenance of supplies and essential supplies and defense.
4)foreign affair.

Article 22
no person who is arrested shall be detained in custody without being informed, as soon as may be,of the grounds of such arrest not shall be denied the right to consult,and to be defended by,a legal practitioner of his choice.
Why is Preventive Detention important?
This Preventive Detention act is a necessary tool in the hands of the executive which authorizes them to arrest any person whom from reasonable suspicious arises that he can commit any cognizable offense or his activities are prejudicial to law and order to state and the police can arrest that person without warrant.
