Biography of Karoly Takacs
Back in 1938, there was a man named Karoly Takacs, he was in the Hungarian Army. He was the best shooter of his country. Karoly won most of the major National and International Championship. His only dream was to win the 1940 Tokyo , Olympic Gold Medal, for which he had practised for one year. He wanted to make his hand as the best shooting hand of the world.
But one day, all his dream fade away like a dust. In 1938, in an Army Training Campaign, in an accident one grenade exploded in his right hand, it was his shooting hand. That grenade ended his dream to win the Olympic Gold Medal. Now, he had only one way that is to knee down to his life, but he did not lose hope and focus on his dream with a small light of hope.
After one year, in 1939, he went to the National Shooting Championship in his country. His colleagues were delighted upon seeing him and complemented him to cheer with them. But, Karoly said that he had not come to cheer them, but to compete with them. Karoly has practiced for one year with his left hand. And absolutely, Karoly won that Championship.
Now, Karoly focused was on to win the 1940 Olympics, but that Olympic cancelled due to World War II. But Karoly didn't lose his hope and started training again for 1944 Olympics. But unfortunately, that Olympic was also cancelled due to World War again. It was hard for Karoly to see his Olympic dream to win the Gold Medal. But , he prepared for 1948 Olympics.
In 1938, Karoly was 28 yrs old and in 1948, he is 38 yrs old. It was hard for Karoly to compete with new players with new energy level. But that didn"t stop him, he went there . There were best shooters all over the world and Karoly was only one with his left hand. But, Karoly won that Championship.In 1952 Olympic, Karoly won Gold Medal again and change the history of Olympics.
Karoly focused on what he had, not what he had lose. If you determined, nothing can stop you.
