The year was 1962 when we moved into the house on Lemay Street near I - 94 expressway. I remember the first house we walk through with the real state agent was across the street from where we ended up living, ie my parents decided that where we would make are family house access the street.. It was also available . The first choice was out of reach because the another family who was also looking at it, and had make a down payment to seal the deal. I was 6 years old when we movie in on my birthday. 2 - 17 . This story was told to me by my mother, year 2019. The real state agent had been showing my parents house on the Westside of Detroit, my father told him to show house s on the Eastside only, because he wanted to live near a family member. The real state agent asked him was the area where the family member lives, was it broken in yet ,i e integrated. The real state agent only knew about the Westside area not the Eastside. This is how we as a family became Eastside residents.
