God's people
God's people

God's people are those who choose to acknowledge his work here on earth. They know that Jesus was sent here to do his work, to teach us, but more importantly, to forgive us.
We are all God's people. We are all made in God's image. So then, why are we so hateful to one another? Why do some "religious" people think they are better than others?

It makes me laugh because it is obvious that they didn't read the Bible because if they had, they would have read that Jesus didn't choose the religious or the priests. He chose from the bottom of the barrel. Thieves, liars, cheaters, prostitutes, these are the people he chose.

He took them in, he changed them, and then let them go and tell others about his goodness. Now he could have chosen the priests, the holy people, but what good would that have done?

Would that have taught us any lessons? No, we needed to see others like us. We need to see people who are not perfect. People like us, who screw up, who make bad decisions, who are hard-headed, and need to hear it over and over.
We need to see the change. We needed to know that if they could do this, then we could do this. This gives us hope, hope to change, and hope that change is possible.

Even Peter had to be told over and over, yet he clung on to his religious beliefs about what he thought it should be. He finally learned that God just wanted us to love one another. To let him know that he should not call any man unclean or common because we are all God's children.
See, it's right there in the bible. It says we are all God's children. We are all the same. We are all not perfect, but God loves us anyway. Read it, or reread it if you need to, but it is in there. So then why are there all these conflicts, all the hatred, and the racism?

We are not here to judge others, we are not here to think we are better than others. We all bleed red, we all have faults, we all fall short but God still loves us and forgives us.

So today, my friends, we need to be bold enough to step out when God tells you to step out.
Let us all remember that none of us are perfect. None of us are without sin. We must remember that we are all made in God's image, and we are all God's people.
