Am I a poet? I am compelled to write when I find the words for if I do not, the words I would have loved to tell would disappear forever, never to be said.

Am I a poet? I see what needs to be said but I can only write it down in poetry for the words do not come to me if the language does not rhyme.

Am I a poet? Writing gives me a reason to live, for if I immortalise my thoughts, then I may touch others' hearts and immortalise my feelings forever.

And yet I can only be a poet if my words truly do transfer a message, for what is the point of writing to blank walls? Language is meant to be understood. I want to be a poet, but I can only claim such a title if my words really do inspire and ignite fires which need to be ignited.
