Let's manage our thoughts !
Emotionally generated feelings manage to become magnified and then multiply. Let's say your wonderful, loving boyfriend doesn't text you back for hours one day. At that moment, maybe you start to get angry and worry, "I can't believe he didn't reply that sweet text I just sent him, I know he always has his phone on and is constantly checking it. He must not care about me. In fact, he never shows me he cares. I can't believe I'm with a guy who doesn't understand me, I don't deserve this" and on and on.
The more the feelings come flooding in the more disturbed you become. Instead of going down this road, cut it at the source. Okay, he didn't text back right away, it must mean he's in a meeting or getting tied up. He cares about you, you know he does so why are you trying to convince yourself otherwise? He texts back right away the majority of the time. His feelings didn't suddenly change, that would just be absurd. If you can take a moment to step back and notice your thoughts, you will often see how unreasonable they are. When you realize this, you take their power away and can go about your day without the unnecessary stress and worry.
