"I think I'm in love with you and I'm terrified." He said and lowered his eyes.
"Loving someone is a blessing. And you know that I love you too then why are you terrified?" She didn't get his point. May be it was because she didn't face the same circumstances as him.
"I don't know…" He was confused. He didn't know how to tell her.
"Tell me exactly what makes you terrified? What do you feel?" She wanted to get him out of his fear.
"Love of my life is leaving me or cheating me..this is something that makes me so afraid that I can't even explain." He did know how to tell her about his past experiences and the things that happened to her mother, her father and other family members. All these things, observation of their lives, shaped his fear.
"But why would I cheat on you or leave you?" She was confused, she was still not getting his point.
"I don't know this thought kills me every day and you know I'm so obsessed with the ones I love. If you left me then I know I will go mad or may die."He didn't know how to tell her that he got obsessed with his things, people and friends. Moreover, she was going to be his wife. What if he hurt her in his obsession and she leaves? How would he survive then?
"Stop saying nonsense. Remember that I love you more than myself, more than my life, more than anything else in this world. Rest assured. I will always be by your side." She didn't know how to assure him and was trying her best to get him out of his fear.
" I know you love me. And I love you but what about the thoughts that keep coming in my mind again and again." He held his head in his hands.
" You are just overthinking.. Tell me about any one moment when I left you alone whether it be a happy moment or a sad moment." She said and held his hands in her hands.
"But what if you left me…" He wanted assurance. His emotions for her were melting his heart.
" I won't leave you ever. Do you know that everyone has their own principles for living a good life." She said, smiling and making eye contact with him.
"Yeah." He nodded his head.
" And you know that I'm a man of principles..hahah…sorry I mean a woman of principles." She asked while looking in his eyes.
"Yup." He nodded again.
"Then remember that I am a lady who will die but not cheat because loyalty and honesty is the first and foremost principle of my life." She said and gently patted his hands.
He was assured now, he knew that many times she had sacrificed even her favorite things. Now after hearing this from her he knew that she won't cheat her. He kissed on her forehead and gave her a warm embrace.
