THOSE BLUE EYES
The labour room of the hospital echoed with the continuous loud cries of that little baby girl whose little body lied on the hands of her mother, who was smiling wide, tears making their way down her eyes, she looked at her husband, who was jumping out of joy; impatient to carry his baby. They look at her and she was beautiful. Lucky were the parents who were gifted with this angel! How beautiful she was! Her cheeks were so pink and fluffy and wind cheered when it had got a chance to touch them; her skin was so soft that even the softest silk was rough in front of her tiny hands and fingers. The baby had fallen asleep, with a smile in her face; her eyes were closed- and when she was doing so, it seemed as if a soul purer than the drop of rain which had just left the clouds, was happy- and pleased to set foot on this world. Then she opened her eyes. They were blue, such beautiful blue that all the other colours were shadowed in its glow. Those eyes, large and majestic, reminded of the seas and the oceans and the mesmerising beauty they possess. The girl was named Lily .

Lily had in no time become the apple of everyone's eyes in the society. She was so attractive that the neighbours made excuses just to come to her parents house in order to have a quick glance of her. She grew up with the best childhood one could ever dream of. She was pretty and cheerful. All the people loved her there. When she had first opened her mouth to speak, her voice was as sweet as her eyes were beautiful.

It was her birthday and she was dressed in a gorgeous white frock which was stitched with the softest silk by the finest tailors for the perfect little girl who dreamt to be a beautiful princess one day who is the owner of such divine beauty, which nobody on this earth has. After dressing her up, Lily 's mother took her daughter and made her stand in front of the mirror. Her mother could see in front of her eyes a pretty angel in a white dress, her perfect baby with her beautiful blue eyes.
"How do you like the dress, sweetheart?", she asked smiling.
"Which dress are you talking about mom? All I see is a rose red shiny thing hopping in the middle of the air and another somewhat pink thing looking at the red thing as if it is smiling on what the red thing is doing.", Lily replied. Her mom was shocked. There was no red or pink thing in the room. What was her daughter talking about? Were her eyes fine? And the next thing they saw was the waiting room of the eye optician's clinic. A thorough check up was held. Lily 's father had decided to give away everything what it would take, he just wanted his precious daughter to always be beautiful and see the world, not by some cheap glasses but the eyes she was blessed with.

The report said Lily was fine. She could read all the letters and identify all the pictures the doctor had showed her. Her eyes were as perfect as it had always been. Her parents took a breath of relief- their child wasn't going to get spectacles from such a young age; a big relief.

Years passed and this incident was put carefully in the box of memories. Lily doesn't remember anything what happened that day. She is a happy seventeen years old girl with lovely parents who have always taken good care of her. She had never seen the outer world and had no friends as she was homeschooled. Not that she complains about that- Lily is a smart girl where her brain is just as rare gifted as her beauty. She plays with her pet dogs, which she has got three. All of them are her best company whenever she was free. Also she had her parents, who were always ready to spend time with her no matter how light their colour might be. Lily 's mom was a pink ball who loved bouncing here and there. She got all excited and started to blush red whenever there was a mention of a foreign tour. Her father, was a white diamond. The colour was dark but still used to shine. He usually looked as if it was trying to hold something back; but whenever he got a glance of Lily , he used to shine so big that her mom's colour looked dull. And Lily , she was a red heart. The brightest and the most vibrant colour in Lily 's world. She loved ice creams and dolls.

Lily was just back home from the garden after playing with her dogs when she noticed something was wrong. Her father seemed as if he was cracked at one end and her mother, for the first time, was sitting at one place. She got inside and both of her parents noticed her coming.
She knew what was the matter all about. She was going to get out and put step on the world outside her house for the first time. Her parents were sad, but were still smiling. The crack was visible on both of them but they tried to hide it with a bright shine on their faces. The ball tried to hop again, and the diamond tried to shine but all they could do was glow a little, and nothing much. Lily looked at them. She stepped ahead and coloured her heart with the most beautiful red and hugged her parents. She would miss them.
.........
Lily 's experience of the outaide world made her feel a way she had never felt before. There were a lot of people walking on the streets. There were stars and circles and pearls and many other shapes but none of them made her happy. She could see those people didn't shine. All the people Lily met were sad, their shapes were cracked, some were broken too and some were shattered into pieces. Lily had never seen such a dreadful scene before. It seemed as if she had entered a land of grief, where people come and break themselves. The red heart she owned wasn't shining too.

Lily is now in a zone where she knows not what would come to her next. She was fine, but wouldn't manage to be so for long. She wanted to help the broken ones but it seemed as if they had been cut apart by the shearest of the swords and they cannot be mended. Why was all this so sad? Why were the people not shining? Why did it feel like the stars wanted to swim in the sky but were caged, the pearls wanted to glow in the dark but were coloured black and the green ones wanted to love the nature but were blamed for greed? Why was red, the most vibrant of all colours, afraid so much? Lily , for the first time felt as if she was about to cry. The perfect little princess, with her beautiful blue eyes had seen the colourless world for the first time and she was afraid- afraid, that she might lose herself. Afraid, that she won't be red anymore. Afraid, that her eyes won't see colours anymore. Her legs were trembling and she felt them being too weak to step ahead. She wanted to go back; back to where she belonged- the colours! The red heart and the pink ball and the white diamond and her three dogs, she didn't want to lose herself. She closed her eyes. She won't lose her colour at any cost.........

Lily opens her eyes and realises years have passed and that incident has become a memory. Lily looks at where she is and sees no colour around. Instead, there were creatures with hands and legs and a head with two eyes, ears and a mouth, and they talked- like her parents used to, like she used to. There were no more souls, there were no more colours, the only thing that was there was- people, just people.

Lily suddenly remembered the day the when she had visited the optician's clinic. She had blue eyes which were perfect. She could see everything colourful. The only thing that was extra was that she used to see the colourful souls. She knows now that it is cured and her eyes are perfect for this world. Her beautiful face and her, perfect, brown eyes.
