Guilty of Guilt
It was the year 1990, Liberia was still going through civil unrest when this story took place .
It is a fictional story so don't take nothing personal about it. But I do believed such things happened in reality.
Mr. and Mrs. Jones had 6 children .. their oldest daughter Gladys was brilliant and blessed at an early age she obtained a scholarship to complete her educational goals from high school until she gets her PhD.
Fortunately for her .. She went through the process, travel to America and completed her studies . She had 5 siblings to take care of ..
Her parents were now old and uneducated .. the civil war had lasted for 13 years, with continuous new displacement and frustration .
Gladys got married in 2004, months after President Charles Taylor left for Nigeria. There were hopes for a new life, she was then opportune to work with the United Nations ..
In 2006 June, her mother passed away leaving her old father mourning. After 4 months the Oldman did fade away as well ..
Gladys had her 2 youngest siblings Alvin and Rita lived with her .. While her sister next to her, Quita established a relationship with a fellow called Amos Brown.
Deedee and Alfred were the ones still living in their deceased parents home.
As a big Sister, she hosted monthly meetings at her home .. where she and her siblings discussed future plans about education, business and their personal challenges.
Gladys husband was a good father to his children and his wife's family. He didn't contributed much to their discussions, but he allowed them to take control of his home as long they were around.
In 2014, the year of Ebola .. Gladys lost her job .. Due to the death of her operations coordinator within the UN.
As God would have it .. She had build a strong team with her siblings. Their monthly meetings had turned into meeting Gladys needs and ensuring she was not frustrated or trouble in anyway for anything.
Quita, had just gotten married and was now working. So she would come with monthly allowance and food stuffs for her big sister, Deedee and Alfred were business men so they would come with their fiancees to keep their big sister house clean and cut the grass from the yard ..
As well service her cars and clean she and her husband clothes.
One Saturday evening, Gladys when for a walk with Rita .. On their way home .. A fellow in a black Jeep stop by the road and asked them to ride with him.
He express more interest in Rita, from the way he look at her .. You could see intelligence and brilliance written all on the girl face and skin ..
Gladys refused the man offer ..with kind words and they walked passed him.
Later Rita , came home to explain to Gladys that the fellow in the black jeep was the Uncle of one of her class mates ..
He said he had a scholarship program for brilliant students
and he felt that both Alvin and Rita were qualified to get the scholarship, because they were A+ students within the 12 grade .
Rita begged her big sister to meet the fellow .. Okay, Gladys agreed to meet him.
The scholarship had to do with travelling abroad .. study and work for 20 years . But there was an exam to be taken ..
7 students from the school were selected only 2 finalists were taken and that happened to be Alvin and Rita..
They needed money to process their documents and get their plane tickets .. Gladys couldn't afford it .. Her husband couldn't help .. putting all of their incomes together ..
The amount could only process their documents.. Then one day the fellow from the black Jeep appeared differently walking and asking about Rita and Alvin .
He was brought to their home .. I wanna help these children .. He said happily, this is an opportune.
How?? Gladys asked , I will handle all their expenses for documents, tickets and reservations .. He said
Just like that ?? Gladys husband asked in a jealous tune .. Yes, the fellow said .. Gladys was shocked
She asked the fellow for his full name and profession. After he had given her details of himself , she accepted his offer to help her brother and sister .
Alvin and Rita .. went to the United States of America upon graduation.. After 5 years they started to support their siblings in Liberia ..
They bought 30 acres of land, and build a school as well started a farm .. They send $5,000USD monthly for their siblings $2000 for Gladys and $1,000 each for the rest.
They had a Church, vocational training center for home arts and transportation company in America .. In Liberia they have established similar programs with professional staffs .
Gladys looking through her college stuffs from America on one evening and realized that James Peany, was the fellow in the black Jeep who had helped her sister and brother.
They graduated from the same college, and she recall he proposed to her while in college but she ignore him due to her focused on her education.
She felt guilty for not recognizing him nor identifying him in anyway .. Wow !!! She decided to call him and apologize..
As she talked to him and apologized .. He told her all his life he has loved her and cherish her and he couldn't find a match to her .. so he had invested his time and affection in education and business ..
She was moved by his conversation .. Why didn't you tell me when you came to my home ?? He said because I felt I needed to do something for you without you knowing then I would be free to move on ..
Those words touched her beyond imagination .. She instantly got in her car and drove to the most expensive hotel in town and call him to come over ..
When they met .. without a word she took him by the hand and took him in the room # 69 and made him had sex with her .. She didn't allowed him say anything
