The Boy that wanted to be Loved
It all started at a very young age the boy just wanted to feel loved but he always seemed to hit obstacles no matter how hard he tried but he also felt like he was in a parallel world where he felt different to others around him.
It all started when he started school, he would often find himself sitting alone eating his school dinner as families that couldn't pay for dinners were segregated from the other children, often being the only one at the table he wished he could sit with the others.
As he got older life got harder, ill fitting clothes and unkempt hair made him a target for ridicule, commonly known as the freak.
It seemed a bit better when he started work and was earning money, buying new clothes, shoes and a decent haircut he started getting attention from girls but relationships never went far as girls often felt smothered by his attention or though he was gay as he was too much of a gentleman to take advantage of them.
Eventually he found a girl of his dreams he thought, she advised him that they should get an apartment together, he was ecstatic and started talking about starting a family, she said one step at a time, which he accepted.
A couple of days later they opened a joint bank account, shortly after she announced that she had to go to Wales to visit her parents but had to go alone, kissing her he said please rush back as I can't wait to live with you in a place of our own, she smiled and walked away.
The days passed, then a week without contact, her phone always seemed to be switched off, he wanted to tell her he had found an apartment for them, then the bombshell came, when the deposit was required it was found that there were no funds in the joint account, he had been scammed.
Heartbroken and penniless he still searches for love, hopefully one day his wish will come true but he will have to be able to learn how to trust somebody first.
