A good day to be invisible..
"What would you do if you become invisible for one day?" Asked the mysterious man.
"Maybe I'll rob a bank or will eat a luxurious meal at a popular restaurant!"
I replied jokingly, knowing that it's never gonna happen anyways.
The mysterious man laughed a little before opening his mouth," Then make sure that they will not be left with a single penny or grain."
After saying this, he came closer and whispered in my ear, "Good luck my friend!"
Within a blink of an eye, a strong light flashed before my eyes and the next scene I saw was rather unexpected.
That mysterious guy, who was standing right in front of me just a second ago was nowhere to be found now.
In the alley, I was standing alone, while thinking where did he went.
"Nevermind! He seems to be a mysterious guy from the start." I thought as I walked out of the alley and entered the main street.
At the corner of the street, there was my favorite cafe where I usually like to spent my time. I pushed the door. The bell rang, telling the cafe owner that a new customer has arrived. On hearing the ring, he hurriedly ran towards my direction to welcome me.
"Hello Mr. William! It's been a long time since you last visited. Where have you been?" The cafe owner asked with a warm smile on his face.
"Yeah I was a little busy with the business affairs these days. Can you bring me a cup of black coffee please."
Mr.William replied.
"My pleasure Sir!" On the order of Mr. William, the cafe owner went back to give the instructions to the workers. And I was still standing in the exact same spot, i.e, in front of the door where the cafe owner ignored me and welcomed Mr.William who had entered after me.
"I was the one who entered first not him. It's against the etiquettes! Can't this old guy see me? Am I invisible???"
After cursing the cafe owner, my anger went away but the word INVISIBLE remained stuck in my head. I kept on thinking about all the strange things that happened today.
First that mysterious guy and his talks of INVISIBILITY and then... suddenly a thought came in my mind, although I found it childish but subconsciously my feet took me towards the big mirror hanging on the center wall of the cafe. I rubbed and blinked my eyes several times while standing in front of the mirror as I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. As a final effort I placed my hand on the mirror but the outcome was still the same as before.
The mirror was plain, without a single reflection of me in it....As if I really became INVISIBLE...
