He glanced at his watch. It said 5:55. He said to himself ‘‘Oh no! Five minutes before mom calls me for supper. I will have to clean my room now.’’ He put the books in his shelf, swept the floor, made the bed, placed the folded clothes inside his cupboard, put his sneakers in the rack, threw the litter and the stale cake into the bin. Straight away, he went downstairs for supper. Mrs Willows Vincent looked up and she said ‘‘Well Tim, have you cleaned your room? You spent the entire day inside your room!’’ Tim said ‘‘Yes mom, I've cleaned. Shall we eat? Mrs Willows Vincent replied ‘‘Yes dear, here's your food and Zoe’s. Be careful while carrying the tray. The food is hot.’’ Tim took the food trays and sat on the dining table. Beside him was Zoe and sitting in front of the table was Mr Willows Vincent. Tim did not utter a word. He simply ate his salad and eggs and his bread. And off he went upstairs. He usually watches T.V before going to bed but today he was weary so he wanted to go straight to bed. This act surprised Mr and Mrs Willows Vincent. Mr Willows Vincent said ‘‘Mmm...No wonder how much he worked today. He usually talks to me. I am doubting he is up to something.’’ Mrs Rosey said
‘‘Can I ask why you never stop doubting him? He is weary and that’s all.’’ The next morning. Tim woke up early, He was very excited and he was going to do something heroic. He wasn’t a bit scared and also felt that Zoe would be jealous of him. He brushed his teeth,washed his face,brushed his hair and wore his dress. He went down and saw Mrs Rosey having a bowl of cornflakes. He smiled at her and said ‘‘Good morning Zoe! How's your day?’’ This quite startled Mrs Rosey because Tim never gave a polite greeting to Zoe. She asked ‘‘ Tim, you are feeling very happy today. What happened? Are you ok?’’ Tim took the bowl of flakes and replied ‘‘I am alright Mom. It's just that I feel very happy. I can’t help it but you will see it in the end.’’ Mrs Rosey said ‘‘Whatever it may be, Eat your cornflakes first.’ Tim shook his head. He ate it quickly and raced his bicycle toward Lucas lane. Mrs Tyler came and said ‘‘Good morning dear, Lucas has already gone to school.’’ Tim smiled and said ‘‘Good morning Mrs Tyler. Oh! I hope I was late today.’’ He saw Lucas. He parked his bicycle and called out to him. Lucas turned and said ‘‘I don't wanna hear any nonsense. Tim said ‘‘No I am not gonna tell any nonsense! I will tell you everything during break. Don’t be an ass, there is nothing to get angry with me.’’ Lucas said ‘‘Okay...I am not angry.’’ The bell rang and they went into the classroom.
