Tolbin gives me a hug.
“Call me if you need me brother. If she needs a woman to talk to, Leilani has said she would love to meet her and help in anyway she can.” Wow that’s a first.
“Thank you brother, I’ll let Clover know, I’m sure she would love to meet Leilani. When this is over we will get together.” With only my father to help me get Clover inside, it doesn’t take long. Clover is settled in my bed with the covers up to her chin. Out in the hall,
“You did well my son.” My shoulders slump, how can he say that?
“She got hurt, It was my fault. Have you ever heard of a non were growing claws? When Linda threatened us Clover actually grew claws before I bit her.” My father smiles,
“Gia works in mysterious ways. I knew she would be strong. I could see her fighting spirit. She will come through this stronger than before. Show her who you really are. Don’t be afraid. I must be off, take care of my daughter in law.” I stand tall before him.
“With my life.”

With everyone gone, I’m left alone. Not sure what to do with myself, I sit by my bed and watch Clover sleep.
