Draped in pain!
Summer holiday is a particular time for youngsters and Priya is no unique. Exactly like any other kid she dislikes going to school and given a chance, can see television for hours. Having newly started geography assignments in school, her latest interest was to discover the biodiversity and nature of India, by snaring on the latest displays on Animal Planet. She decided to experience nature and wilderness, by scheduling a holiday to her maternal grandmother in a village close to nature.
As usual, the train was late, she had a rough idea to reach her destination around 8:00 in the morning.
As expected, Mama Ji was waiting for them at the railway site. Priya was delighted she hopped out of her seat and hurried to the entrance screaming, "Mama". They pulled out the huge brown suitcase full of her books and clothing. Although she remembered her grandmother was the favourite person to protect her from studies and rescue from her mothers scolding, feeling of achievement and excitement was plainly noticeable on her face.
Auto rickshaw stopped near the gate, she could clearly listen to the candy melodic voice of her Nani. Priya jumped out from the rickshaw and directly ran towards the portico to look for Mithu, a very clever talking parrot.
In not more than a few minutes she investigated the entire house, the very old cottage with the broken floors and the aged khatiya in the veranda.
It was the most wonderful beginning of her leisure, she got all the delicious lip-smacking curries and sweets.
It was time to get out of the bed, birds we're chirping, she could hear the breeze hitting outside the window. It was a big day, she had plans to explore the village and attempt swimming in the pond.
It was nearly gloomy and she scurried to the home thinking about the sweets of jaggery promised by Nani. As soon as she stepped inside the veranda she heard a very intense foreign voice from the seating area.
Here she shows up, she is my favourite child said, Nani.
She walked towards the mystery, person and touched his feet. Someone from behind chuckled, "Ramesh, she is your niece.
Do you recognize? she used to run behind you for the chocolates at the age of two".
He grabbed Priya and mumbled, certainly I recall her, My favourite kid.
The whole family was overjoyed and recollected numerous conversations on the feast table. By that moment she was knowledgeable that the unidentified person was her uncle; cousin of her mother.
The very next day Ramesh met her and asked her to heed him to an extremely beautiful and a confidential spot. She stepped down the parkway and obeyed him to a very isolated cottage at the end of the village administration office. It was an abandoned house with plenties of dust and forests around. She grabbed his hand and prayed him to leave, something was not favourable about that area, she was frightened. He stared her with a trickery smile and whispered, nothing will happen let's go inside and get lots of chocolates and playthings inside. Her eyes twinkled, she ran inside in the exploration of the dolls.
It was dark and filthy, the entire room was full of ancient slabs and trash.
Ramesh snatched her tight and teased her to demise, she screamed out of the pain.
Her stares replenished tears and the floor was messed with blood.
She stood up, wiped her face and stepped with him. It was her favourite Aloo puri in dinner, she avoided the puri and elected to weep.
The next day was not so bright, birds were not so melodious and the breeze was not so delicate. Everything was distorted, she got up from the mattress and stepped out like a youth who grew up in a single day.

Well, this was just not the end.
Many times it impacts us, we undergo a lot of pain and helplessly adopt someone like Ramesh.
If we discuss this, we get many guidance and speeches but do we really think this has stopped?
I don't think so.
Well, we question those grown-up girls that why did you hide this? Why didn't you tell your parents? It is a crime to resist such mistreatment. But when it comes to us we ourselves try to hide this from society.
In our nation girls are educated to obey, behave, cook, flaunt and remain flawless, we never get education about body, intercourse, assault and sights.
We believe that ultimately, a child will understand everything without any instruction. Well, absolutely we learn on our own, we realize what is right or wrong, what is intercourse and what is assault but only after we go through it.
Is this the correct way to learn things?
We struggle to assemble a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere for our child at home but when it comes to informing them about the dark side of the world, we step back.
If a girl tries to tell that she has been harassed she has to think twice.
She is scared of her parents, one who birthed her.
It is high time now, let's stop it. You are a dad, mom, brother, sister, wife and a friend if you will not help them then who?
There is nothing bad in a father educating her daughter about this, you are her creator.
Make them courageous to speak up with you.
