Life Of People, Chap-3
It was almost a year since the grandmother died. Everyone were back to their normal life before tragedy. Although the sudden demise was sad, but they couldn't do anything except mourning and moving on at their own pace. Like the saying goes "Time heals every pain".
It was grandmother's wish to see her grandson's marriage and see her granddaughter-in-law. And also since Rohit had a stable job, bought his own house & a car and he was in his late 20s, it was the perfect time to get married.
Now, since everyone know that in India, parents always say that if we want to get married then we should start finding our potential partner as soon as possible because it always takes almost a year or so to find a perfect partner for lifetime. Sometimes you'll find her or him within a year or sometimes it may take more than a year, maybe 2 year too or so.
With the same thought in mind, when topic of Rohit's marriage was started, he denied saying it was too early but his parents convinced him saying the exact same thing,
"Arre kon sa abhi shaadi ki baat nikli aur kal hi shaadi ho jaeygi. Larki khojne me samay lagta hai na", said his father.
"Aur nhi to kya, ache rishte aasani se nhi mil jaate. Abhi se khojenge tab jaake kahi 1-2 saal me jaake koi acha rishta milta hai", continued his mother.
Saying things like these, Rohit's parents convinced him. Rohit agreed to them, "Thik hai, ma-papa jaisa aapko thik lage".
And so they started finding their daughter-in-law. After some months of finding, they found a decent girl with a decent family for their son. Both families came to see each other's child and agreed. Both bride and groom also met each other, had a chat and agreed too. It was such a happy moment for both the families. Sweets were given, both the mothers exchanged hugs and everyone congratulated each other.
The date of marriage was fixed after 3 months on the 29th of December as there were only two auspicious dates for marriage, one was after a month, on 17th of October and other one was after 3 months which was fixed finally for the marriage.
The soon-to-be bride was a decent girl. Her name was Shreeta Sharma. She works in an It company too. She was kind and soft spoken but people always mistook her kindness with weakness which was not true. She knew how to defend herself and not let people take advantage to her good nature.
Soon the day came where Rohit and Shreeta were tied in the knot of marriage. It was a happy day. Everyone in both their families were delighted and Rohit & Shreeta's happiness were at peak. All the rituals were done as per the Hindu culture and traditions. When Rohit filled Shreeta's hairline with vermillion and put mangalsutra around her neck, Panditji announced them as husband and wife. The marriage completed with both the children taking blessings from all the elders present there.
By the time, the marriage was completed it was already 4 am in the morning so they decided to do the "Vidai" after feeding Baraatis the breakfast after 8 am.
Soon the bride and her family were crying as she departed with her family. They both, the new husband and wife sat beside each other in the car and soon they were off to their home. It was the beginning of Rohit's new part of life which had started just now.
