Examination Malpractice
Examination malpractice can be defined as exhibiting unacceptable behaviours such as; bringing in notebooks, textbooks or some other materials related to subject in the exam hall, copying from a neighbour's work or impersonation.
Students engage in exam malpractice for a lot of reasons. A particular group of students engage in this heinous act as a result of laziness. A lazy student finds it difficult to write and read his notes in preparation for his examinations. As a result, such student would engage in this to avoid failing such examination.
Furthermore, students are usually influenced by their peer groups. Gullible students might get deceived by their peers into believing they the only means of passing their exams is by engaging in exam malpractice. Such students believe this lie and do not bother to study as they already feel that they have an escape route.
And of course there are laid down rules for the perpetrators of this evil menace. In any level of education, any student caught involved in exam malpractice is expelled or rusticated from the school. Students should be made to realize that this act is destructive to the educational system and attracts punishment, thus, they should desist from engaging in this.
So, every hand must be on deck to eradicate this vice that has eaten deep into the educational system. Students should be taught the importance of studying hard and developing confidence in themselves so as to resist the temptations of exam malpractice.
