Parbati keeps on moaning feebly and trying to convince her father,'papa,I love him.Please don't kill us!' Before his father say something her brother shouts,'Shut up! In our family this kind of thing never happens'.
One year ago, Parbati is a 20 years old girl who is born and brought up in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. She belongs to a Brahmin pandit family.When she goes to college for higher study, her father reminds her that always remember which family you belongs to. Parbati is a intelligent girl, she studies hard. In her class,she doesn't talk much with others. One day, she forgets to bring her notebook then a boy, Sivam helps her with his notes. Parbati never talks with any boys as her family is very conservative. She realises after talking with the boy for a month, she begins to like her.They both loves each other very much.But when Parbati gets to know that he is a 'dalit',the first thing comes to her mind that,'my father will kill us.' She prays God that her father might accept them.Year passed, after a semester,she comes to home for a week. She is talking with him late night.She doesn't realize her elder brother Dharma has seen him. In the morning,she is asked about the boy. She tells about everything cause she knows if she lies, there is no one who can save her even Sivam. Her family doesn't react strangely.His father tells her to invite him in their house. She thinks God listens to her and finally they will be married. But she is dead wrong..If she looks closely, she will feel the rage in their eyes.Sivam comes to their home,they let him to stay in a house in a area where very few lives. He doesn't mind as he knows about the culture and cast difference. The next day, she wakes up and find no one in the house. She imagins something wrong and runs to the other house. There she finds Sivam is lying on the ground,his hands are binded..She begs her father that she will never do anything like this and pleads to leave them. But she sees something different in their eyes, they are not the family members she knows..They are different..Her mother, grandmother, brother ,aunt no one helps her. She is tightly held by them..In front of her eyes ,they hangs Sivam froms a tree..She is helpless,she burst into tears. Then she sees with a shudder her brother who protects her from everything comes in front of her and says,'It's about family's honour and you are a disgrace to it choti'.Then he hangs her too beside Sivam!!He feels bad but he says to all ,'it's for our honour'.
