Zoi, the albatross bird chick, along with other chicks, has been waiting for weeks on Layson Island for its parents to arrive with some food. At last, his father came and fed him, and his happiness knew no bounds. His father did fondle him but soon left him again alone before flying out to a life of travelling the Pacific Ocean, mostly never to return.

Zoi (Part 5)

Now, if Zoi has to live his life, he is left with no option but to fly. His parents wouldn't revisit him to feed or fondle him; the ocean was his only hope. But, like all Albatross young ones, he will have to wait for a strong wind to come, giving him the required push for his maiden flight. In a few weeks, the wind will arrive, and Zoi and others will debut as one of the greatest ocean travellers. But even if the right wind comes, it may bring its own dangers. Nothing is easy…. Life has already pushed Zoi and his fellow chicks to a corner, with no other way out except one, and to exit that way, he has to put his life at risk.
All the parent Albatross arrive on Laysan Island to breed. Their duties end once the young ones are able to fly and live their own lives. They then leave their young ones on the Island. Until this day, the ocean in front of these young ones looked calm and friendly without any threat, but not anymore.
