Don't mess with and Angel
06 - pent up emotions

"Thanks Aunt Kelly, for this and everything." I said to my aunt as I walked into her grand office. She’s a big event planner and I must say she’s doing way better than her elder sister, my mum.

"Look, Tasha, I’m only doing this to make you feel better, though I know all this…" She paused raising her hands to lay emphasis on what she was about to say, "Is an act of foolishness." She handed me some wads of money.

I knew that if I said anything, it would make me feel like an ingrate so I kept my mouth shut.

"Thanks for this, I’d best be on my way." I stood up to leave.

"Hold on a sec." she called bringing something out of her bag.

"I made these cookies for you; I know that they’re your favorites." I smiled as I took them from her, mum used to make this a lot when she was well. I always hoped that when she recovered she would make them but right now I was beginning to lose hope.

"How is she?" She asked, I gave her a weak smile.

"She’s good." I replied curtly hoping she wouldn’t say another word.

"Tasha, let me help her." My aunt said, but I knew that wasn’t her intention, at least that’s what I thought. My mum was fine.

"No, only I can take care of her. You’ll only put her in some rehab center, which I won’t allow. I know you’re trying to help aunt but I think I’ve got this." I said firmly before walking out.

I was tired; I still couldn’t believe that it took one day to separate our family. I needed my dad, perhaps he was the only one who could solve our problems, maybe he was the only one who could make mum feel better.

"There’s so much order coming in, Tasha I need you to help me take this chickens to this address. It’s for one of our rich clients, so please make it quick." My boss said to me at the eatery where I worked.

I nodded in understanding and grabbed the box of chickens. I balanced it properly on my bike and placed my helmet comfortably on my head and revved the engine to life following the gps tracker.

I hummed happily enjoying the cool breeze, I was about to make a u-turn when I saw a cat about to go...
