"My dreams is to fly over the rainbow so high..
My dream is to fly over rainbow so high..
My dream is to fly..
Over the rainbow...."

My music got turned out, i raised my eyes away from the book i am currently reading "The Winner Stands Alone by Paulo Caelho" to look at my mum, one hand akimbo and the other holding a fabric, which looked a little heavy for my liking.

I whined for she switched off the mp3 player," muuuummm."
She just squinted her eyes more in a warning manner and spoke,"stop wasting time intentionally when you know that you are suppose to get ready, as the groom's family must be coming any minute from now."

I made a face and said," should they not know the real me?"
My mum eyed me one more time and that just made the cat to hold my tongue.

I took the fabric she brought, which i got to know was a Saree and entered the bathroom to change.

As soon as i came out of the bathroom i saw my mum, ready with the kit of make-up.
I shook my head and asked," mum? Whats this now?"

She didnt utter anything, just made me sit on the seat of my dressing table and started painting my face excitedly; experimenting the colours that matched the Saree am wearing.

I have to do all the stupid stuff that i searched last night on google about how to make a boy reject you..
Hope it works.

Being positive and leaving my trust on google i headed towards the living room with a tray of tea on my hand to meet the groom.

According to my mum i should serve them the tea, but according to google i shouldn't.
So i went inside the living room and placed the tray on the coffee table.

According to mum i should greet the boy and his family with the indian cultural greeting that is folding both the hands and then touching the elders feet but according to google i shouldn't.
So instead i greeted them with just a "Hi."

According to mum, the groom's family should be happy seeing me.
But according to google after doing what i did, they shouldn't be happy at all.
Their expression was worth seeing.
They looked at me with great hatred as if i was a disease they will get if they smiled, and then they looked at my parents asking through the expression of their face "is this the upbringing you gave?"

I was not at all feeling happy about that.
My parents being questioned about their upbringing was the last thing i wanted in my life to be asked.
But right now i have no other choice.
I have to do this.
I have to make sure that the boy rejects me.
Cause i cant reject him as my mum had already cleared that after sending the marriage proposal for me to the boy's mother.

According to mum i should be shy towards the boy and his family but according to google i shouldn't be.
And you all know that i will be following google as till now whatever i did, the prediction google gave never went wrong.
So i looked at the boy and winked at him.

According to google he should widen his eyes, look shocked and stand up then leave with his family.
But instead the boy smiled and winked back, he then asked," mum can i speak with her in private?"
Without waiting for an answer from any of the parents, he just stood up, held my hand and led me towards the kitchen.

Upon reaching a place far from our parents hearing a thing, he stopped.
I pulled my hand forcefully away from him and asked angrily," what's this nonsense?"

He didnt answer anything instead asked," why are you doing all this?"

"What all this?" I asked playing innocent.

Again he didn't answer and just spoke," do you know that you are hurting your parents?"

I raised my eye-brow and asked," what's your problem?"
Thankfully this time he answered," nothing but if you dont want to get married then just tell them: than insulting them like that, just tell them that you love someone."

"Or something," i added.
"Huh?" He asked.

"You think i haven't tried?" I asked.
He looked at me, held my hand and said," come."

We went back to the living room and he spoke," aunt, uncle do you know that she doesnt want to get married?"
I looked at both my parents and then scooted closer to him, holding his hand tighter afraid of the scolding i will get from both of my parents.

My dad stood up and said,"son, whatever she said to you in the kitchen is not true, believe me."

The boy spoke," she didnt say anything, but i just want to know that does any of you know that she doesnt want to get married?"

Tears welled up my eyes, my mum spoke," yes we knew."
The boy looked at me and i also looked at him, i saw him blurred cause of the tears in my eyes but he squeezed my hand a little to assure me that everything will be fine.
He looked back at my parents and asked," did you ever asked why?'

My father said," well that's something.." but he cut him off and said," its no more personal uncle, cause i will be getting married to her soon." I gulped hardly and looked at him, but he didnt look at me and continued," so i have the full right to know."

My dad nodded and said," she did not wanted to get married because she wanted to fulfil her dream first."

"Dream?" He asked.

My mother nodded and spoke," but we denied because after us she wont have anyone, and we wanted to secure her future."

He looked at me, i loosened my grip on his hand but he tightened more and asked," which dream?"

I didnt looked at him, my mum spoke," she.." but he interupted " am not asking you auntie, please?"

So i spoke," i want to be a pilot."
I looked at him and saw him smile.
No doubt he was handsome, with his brown honey like captivating eyes to his dimpled smile to his defined jaw line to his perfectly messy brown hair with a little tuft here and there.

He spoke," then that's not a problem, we can go to the same university after marriage, i will learn Aeronautical engineering while you can learn yours, and i promise to give you.... your space."

I looked at him and smiled.
He whispered," see any dreams you want, i'll be there to help you fulfil them."
And i couldn't stop my tears.

After few years.

"We would like to award Mrs. Poojah Siddarth Sehgal for being the hardworking and best pilot for the year 2019," announced the host.

I climbed the stage and after accepting the award from the managing director of our airline company, i looked at my husband and my six month old daughter.
Proudly knowing that he will let her dream and also help her fulfil just the way he helped me with my dream.
