People are afraid to sit at home and do nothing are literally afraid of their own company/their own demons.
The fact that you can sit in silence and do nothing but some cosmic tasks gonna take you closer to the humdrum existence of yourself ! Which I feel is a great investment in self. This will help in long-run.
