Adventures in Armenia-
#WritcoStoryPrompt35
The discovery was mind blowing by most standards. I mean... what were the chances really?... So... in order to properly blow the "previously discussed mind", and give proper recognition to the event in question...and , basically, give credit where credit is due... I have to rewind my story at least .... let's say....
by a few fortnight's- or at least the equinox... when was the last day light savings time?..or maybe before the last Blood Moon?... Who knows... and I say my story because it directly relates to my life and no one else's...I'm the one living it so....
It started really about 6 months ago when I was incarcerated in the Anchorage Correctional Complex- East facility... and I really came to grips and faced the facts that I really never got a chance to meet my grandpa. I mean, I met the man, sure! But did I know who my grandpa was?...Absolutely not!- Unfortunately, he passed away shortly after my grandma in the fall of 2004 it seems.... my grandma had passed away the previous winter and my grandpa just really didnt see the point on continuing his life in the physical realm... Him and my grandma had married when he was 12 years old... in 1936.He was the second oldest of 11 children altogether... the son of a hunter/trapper/trader in Payette County Idaho. And my grandfather being so young... the chances that my grandparents were only with each other... their whole lives is a timeless romantic notion that needs to be recorded and logged in the Historical Geneology of the Arment Family in America- The newest chapters and generations of the Lineage of the Arment Family Branch as survived by the descendants of William Arment, back through the religious sections of French Huguenots and Nobility, and Knights honored by King's, traced back through King Edward 3rd of England... Machynlleth, County Mongomeryshire, Wales.... through Louis Le Bebonnaire King of France... through to Emporer Charlemagne... All of which deserves the attention of Sparks, or Spielberg. It is truly a testament to the bond of Holy Matrimony... and an example of what an actual adult relationship is... consisting of honor, loyalty, trust, faith, and love... the foundation of their marriage was, I'm sure, more of an arrangement, or business proposition then a joyous union between a couple of young, star-crossed lovers. In fact, It probably just made sense for them... and my grandfather, having so many siblings, I'm sure was looking to start a family of his own... Unfortunately, many of those years I was not previewed to and am unfamiliar with. You see... I only knew my grandpa as the quiet, frail gentleman that spoke softly and always had the habit of asking me "what's new TJ?" ... It seems like an ironic twist of sadistic humor that now... years later, find myself becoming more and more interested in my ancestors of the past and just fascinated by all their stories!!- I mean... I have always had confidence and I'm not ashamed to say that I think pretty highly of myself... hahaha... But I ain't got shit on my ancestors!!... I mean... these were great men and women! Take my grandpa for example... my grandpa went from buying his first horse at 12yrs old for $24.00 --farming and getting married... and suddenly being drafted into the United States AirForce and becoming a Belly-gunner... to being "shot-down" over Italy and spending several months as a P.O.W. and became 1 out of 6 people to be traded back to the United States. Talk about some adventure huh!??! and then , years later returning home to be reunited with my grandma and finally starting their family. They had 5 children... 4 girls and a boy...
my father...obviously being the male also seemed to have greatness woven into the very molecular fabric of his DNA... from an early age his heart was taken and won-over by a musical instrument. Wood and glue, plastic and paint, knowledge and passion, creativity and curiosity combined with 6 strings of metal ment to winover the hearts and minds of humanity in the years to come....
