Two rats named mike and jack were living inside a burrow made under a wall between two neighbourhoods. Every night they would sneak inside the house grab whatever they can and return home. Mike and jack were friends from childhood, they lived with their parents. Both their parents were killed in a car accident when they were living in the city. From then they decided to move and settle in a less busy and calm environment. The neighbourhood which they were living provided food more than enough. They used to store the leftovers after every meal.
Days passed everything was going fine, but suddenly one morning they heard large noise outside their home. It was not their usual wake up time, jack tried to overhear their conversation. They were fighting and quarrelling, lots of arguments, people were shouting at each other. They couldn’t sleep further. They went outside their hole, people standing there didn’t even notice them. It was a surprise to them, usually people when they saw rats they would chase them and throw something at them. But they were busy shouting. They went to their friend’s house and spend the whole day. On returning home the place was really quite, people were already asleep even before their bedtime. They felt there was something wrong with the situation. On that night they were more careful on entering the house. Mike and jack entered the kitchen, there were bread crumbs and some leftovers of the cheese. Mike is considered to be the strongest and he carries most of the food. Jack had a sharp mind, he used to guide them back to home without leaving any trace. They grabbed whatever they could and started to move slowly along the wash basin. Suddenly they heard a noise. Both of them paused for a moment. No one in that house usually wakes up in the middle of the night. Mike asked jack to see if anyone is coming. There were no lights switched...
